Excellent location for city shopping

Posted 18-Nov-2016
Pros: First, and most importantly, the attitude of all the staff ! Convenience for city centre, interesting building. Large room, good bed, great shower !
Cons: Because of its position on a very busy road, there is a lot of traffic noise in rooms at the front , money would be well spent on triple glazing !
Location: Great location for shopping trip , compact city centre with the lovely arcades all close together, plenty of choice for eating places.
Had a lovely short stay in this interesting city centre hotel. Wonderful to see lots of the original features kept in the building ! Staff were quite delightful, really helpful, friendly, and made us feel very welcome ! Quite a difference from the often fairly indifferent attitude experienced in some other hotels ! We travelled to Leeds by train , hotel only a short distance from station, and very close to city centre with great shopping! Breakfasted in hotel for convenience, nice bright small room at top of hotel , continental breakfast ,and sausage butty, all good .Only reason we did not give 5 stars, was traffic noise in room at front of hotel....(invest in triple glazing ? )

A little gem in the heart of leeds

The hotel is welcoming as soon as you enter the lobby. Very quiet in communal areas=Relaxing. Room was a normal double, but still very nice and sizable with a lovely bathroom and power shower (WAKES YOU UP!)

Great little hotel

Great little hotel right by the station. So much nicer than one of the big chains. Decent breakfast as well.

Overall stay was good, cooked breakfast was poor; baked beans were microwaved so were nuclear hot, only one sausage, one tomato, one hash brown, one mushroom - poor for £15!! Service was very good though and dinning area pleasant. I also noticed the valance on the side of the bed was not clean / hadn't been changed as had dirty marks on it! Nice hotel but could be better and cleaned to a higher standard, I am particular though and did feel it could be better. We were woken at 5.15 am to the sound of glass recycling being emptied, it was very noisy! The hotel discounted 10% off that night which was poor considering how much it disturbed our sleep and for that reason we probably won't return. I should of challenged the discount but to be honest was too tired as we had a 4 hour drive home.

When the very kind and thoughtful staff heard that I was getting a cold, they brought me tea with lemon and honey. Much appreciated!
