Nice hotel that needs some renovation

Posted 23-May-2016
Pros: The health club facility was a bonus.
Cons: Décor of the whole hotel.
Location: Leeds City Centre was a £12-£14 taxi ride.
The staff around the hotel were all friendly and professional. The fabric of the hotel itself is however in need of some renovation.

Weekend Break at Leeds Mercure Parkway Hotel

Posted 21-Mar-2016
Pros: The staff were courteous and eager to be of assistance. In fact I would say that the hotel staff were its chief asset
Cons: The Hotel generally is in need of a makeover. Paintwork and décor in general in need of attention in places
Location: Extremely handy for access to Leeds and nearby towns as well as Yorkshire Dales. Extremely pleasant situation overlooking parkland
Reception was well staffed and very helpful in providing local information. paperwork was managed efficiently. We requested a change of room as the original one had a poor aspect and looked somewhat down at heel. However concessions were soon made when this was pointed out. Quality of food and the dinner in particular were of good standard. Restaurant hours were particularly accommodating. The bar was spacious but cosy with an open fire and comfortable seating

Shambles of a place - avoid

Posted 05-Jan-2016
Pros: Very little
Cons: Their concept of customer service
Location: There's a 24/7 McDonalds about 5 mins away in case you need to eat.
Arrived early evening and no-one on reception so I had to find a waitress from the restaurant to help - and she didn't know what to do. No apologies when the reception staff returned - it was as if they just didn't care that we'd been kept waiting. Tried to use room service later but no reply from - guess where? - reception! Finally got patched through to the kitchen to be told they had just stopped doing hot food (10pm). Had the reception team been on hand we'd have got something to eat in time. Last straw, woken at 4 am by drunken singing from the room next door - paper thin walls in this hotel. Maybe they'd had the same experience and drowned their sorrows? My advice? AVOID!!!

Basic hotel in a picturesque part of town.

Posted 01-Jan-2016
Pros: Staff helpful and friendly but neglected to mention the different hours of breakfast on weekends. Hotel located near a nice park with trails.
Cons: Hotel info booklet with local info like pharmacies, laundry, cab and other necessary info on the hotel. No USB and only 1 outlet for charging devices.
Location: There is a park and it's a launching point for Yorkshire Dales, however need a car or be on a tour to explore or leave grounds.
Breakfast/food and staff friendliness a big plus. Strange bathroom configuration (absolutely no room for your toiletries) and no hotel/local information booklet in room. We had to call the front desk for pharmacy information, and also had to make local calls (which we were charged for) to find out more.

My initial room was awful with adjoining doors to the room next door where I could clearly hear the conversation the occupants were having. However, there was no problem changing to another room.
