Top Hotel with Best Staff

Posted 10-Jan-2017
Pros: Staff- top quality Product - top quality Location - the best location in Leeds
Cons: Everything was great.
Location: City Centre location 1871 Bar absolutely fantastic with best selection of drinks and cocktails. Midtown Grill restaurant - great steakhouse in town!
It was my girlfriend birthday. we have been complimentary upgraded. Upon arrival Lamin and Dave greet us in the lobby with a big smile and friendly approach. Room was absolutely amazing, very spacious, city view, super king size bed, very clean, just brilliant. Executive lounge is fabulous with drinks and nibbles. Bar so vibrant with great atmosphere. Breakfast was great, very smooth and efficient service, table nice and clean, everyone very friendly and polite. This is what hospitality is about. Well done Leeds Marriott, we really enjoyed our stay, you have met all expectations. Special thank you to Paul Collins who made our stay so special. Thank you.

Nice hotel, very clean

Posted 31-Dec-2016
Pros: Very nice hotel, friendly staff, room was good.
Cons: Pillows very soft and no extra ones in room. There is never enough milk in the rooms (but that's all hotels and not just this one)!!
Location: Hotel close to train station and all shops. All within walking distance.
Hotel was nice, friendly staff. Room was good - although extra pillows in the room would've been good!

Disappointingly Mediocre

Posted 29-Dec-2016
Booked to stay for 3 days whilst visiting family over Christmas. The hotel itself is lovely but I booked an executive room & on check in was told the exec lounge was closed I was however still entitled to the benefits such as comp drinks & food. Unfortunately it was never really explained what I was entitled to & as only the public bar was open it never really worked out as the bar staff didn't seem to know The breakfast staff however were really lovely but the same can't be said for the chap on the night reception on Christmas Eve who was downright rude & condescending plus the general surly reception staff. I.e. On check out, "how was everything"? hmm, ok but not great! Silence. "Here's your bill" When you consider myself & others were staying over Christmas, there were no little extras or festive cheer in the air, nothing done by the hotel & it could have been any old day in any old hotel! Overall disappointing & not a hotel or chain I shall use again!

Nice, central hotel

Posted 29-Nov-2016
Cons: Exec lounge a bit confusing on a Sunday, as for some reason there are no nibbles or alcohol served in the lounge - they are available BUT in the bar?
Nice, central hotel excellently placed for shopping, eating and drinking. Valet car parking available, bit pricey at £15 per day, so we left ours at the trinity centre, had the ticket validated on checkout and paid £9 per day. Executive room was nice and roomy, teasing views to the trinity centre and botanist cocktail bar :) Exec lounge was ok - open all day with access to wine and lager 5.30 till 9.30 I think - we went out for a meal so not 100% sure what time they stop serving. Open all day for decent coffee and soft drinks though. Used pool, sauna, steam room and whirlpool bath - was empty on Sunday morning which suited us fine :). Overall was a great base for a 2 night weekend break.

Good location for city centre

Posted 22-Nov-2016
Pros: Location, in-room meals, friendlyness of staff
Cons: Lighting througout the hotel, especially in the rooms. Windows are dated, need fixing & insulation - very drafty!
Location: 5min walk to station and huge shopping centres and other attractions. Relatively quiet for being bang in the bery busy centre.
Because of health issues, I had to spend 2 days in my room. The dim lighting gave it a gloomy & depressing feel. On the positive side, the room service was excellent and friendly, accommodating willingly to my special dietary needs.

Great location for shops, bars and eateries

Posted 31-Oct-2016
Pros: Excellent breakfast
Cons: Shocking car park access
Location: Fabulous location for shopping. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Yorkshire Sculpture Park Isn't far away which is worth a visit
4 adults stayed in a family room which made it a little crowded. Could have done with more tea/coffee/milk. The spa facilities were a welcome extra. I would suggest guests took a robe as its unpleasantly warm which makes it difficult to get dressed.
