Great room, excellent location

Posted 03-May-2016
Great room but no internet at all. There was no heat in the bathroom at all. The heater in room didn't work either but an electric heater was provided. Rooms were large and clean. Hotel was very quiet and in the perfect location.

3 Nights at the Discovery Inn Hotel

Posted 09-Apr-2016
This hotel is directly across from the Leeds Central Train Station. I had a pleasant room on the 2nd floor. Continental breakfast was adequate. WiFi did not work so well sometimes.

What you would expect for the price. Exceptionally nice reception staff would definitely stay there again.

Convenient, fine for short break but basic

Posted 28-Feb-2016
Pros: Staff helpfulness Location by railway station and centre of Leeds
Location: Right in the centre of Leeds and 20-30 minutes walk to University. Nearby Indian restaurants were good. Evans cycle shop very close.
You get what you pay for here. It is fine for a short stay or for working away from home on a budget - exactly how it is advertised. Really good & helpful staff. The room was clean and warm - perfect for just the one night I was there.

Easily accessible to most locations.

Posted 16-Feb-2016
Pros: It was clean, tidy, fresh and well presented. There were plenty of amendments in the room (tea, coffee, WiFi, TV with free view).
Cons: The shower curtain needs to be shorter, it covered the plug hole and filled up the shower.
Location: Plenty of restaurants, shopping courts, supermarkets and different places to explore
Knowing that the hotel was so close to the station was comforting enough. After our arrival we settled in and we were extremely happy with our room. Afterwards we went to explore as I had never been to Leeds before. We discovered so many places even after turning the corner of the hotel. All of the staff were so welcoming and helpful; that is exactly what you need when you're nervous and in a place that you don't know. There was a lift in the hotel which is perfect if you are exhausted from travelling and exploring. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice hotel close to the station

Posted 03-Feb-2016
Pros: Position, cost, cleanliness and staff.
Cons: Weather!
Location: Near to station, restaurants, shops, cinemas, theatres, taxi rank at the station (400ft.)
The plumbing is a bit old fashioned but worked well. The hotel had been repainted throughout recently, we could just smell faintly fresh paint. The hotel was always warm enough and any minor problems were dealt with immediately. Being there for a family bereavement we needed to be able to get to outlying areas and the proximity to the station (430ft approx.) is perfect. We had a room on the 10th floor and it was quiet. The continental breakfast is recommended for quality and cost. The hotel is well situated for pubs (one either side of the entrance), restaurants and shops. The modern covered precinct is less then 1/4 mile away. I was raised in Leeds and can say the city has made great steps forward in recent years

No lights, bathroom flooded and noisy

Posted 01-Feb-2016
We got in the lights didn't work in room or corridor. They were fixed. By the time we were back from our dinner out they were not working again. Receptionist told us this was due to foreign chargers surging the floor... Surely that's bad electrical work that just hasn't been fixed. Sink leaked through its trap all night which caused flooding in the bathroom by morning, through to the room. Doors from other rooms very noisey during 4-7am but I understand this can't be helped. Room window did not open and caused us to be very hot in the room during the night. Also bathroom extractor was very loud and didn't extract very well, as we couldn't use the window in the room it condensated onto the windows. I am used to budget hotels through travelling to see friends in Leeds a lot, but next time I'll stay in the budget ibis. This hotel was awful. When we complained they could only offer us a free breakfast on our next visit, I'm surprised they think we will be booking again
