Waiting for refund!

Posted 18-Apr-2016
Great location, everything else is poor! Delux room, a youth hostel would have been in better condition. Special request for Birthday didn't happen! £116 for a night! Any hotel in Leeds would have been better value! Very very disappointed. I have made my feelings known and I am waiting for a refund off you!

Characterful but tired

Posted 10-Apr-2016
Pros: The location
Cons: Needs smartening up.
Location: Royal Armouries
We have been staying at 42 The Calls for 2/3 nights each year on an annual business trip for about the last eight years. I think it must have come under new ownership as formerly it was a smart boutique hotel with pleasing personal touches. This time the staff seemed disinterested, the touches were missing, breakfast in the room is nothing special and at £12.50 very overpriced (even more so at the £12.95 which they tried to charge), and our room had been left unlocked while we were out for the day. It's location is fun, and it's well positioned for a walk along the old wharfs or for the Royal Armouries, but I think next year we will try somewhere different.

Lovely character hotel in the centre

Posted 18-Mar-2016
Pros: Reception - Good porter system, good welcome, v helpful.
Cons: Breakfast. Had very poor experience - Waiter needs serious training - no offer of toast, the nicest fruit bowl empty, one pastry left. £15.95 each!
Location: Excellent
Lovely welcome glass of wine and putting luggage in my room.

Hotel on the river, regenerated area of Leeds

Posted 07-Mar-2016
Pros: the quirky rooms the breakfast the comfy bed
Cons: the carpets need replacing
Location: next to the river. Part of the regenerated area along the river. Almost next to the "walk over" bridge. Some lovely bars locally.
What a lovely, quirky hotel. Loved the decor in the public rooms. The bedrooms were really comfortable. Ours was large with a great bathroom. Our children's was quirky with a seating/desk area. The breakfast was magnificent. Lots of choice and huge! The staff serving breakfast were excellent and very understanding of our big party of 2 families. I didn't mind but some of the carpets are in need of replacement, but that is the only fault I could fine. I am planning a "girls" trip to Leeds already and will book this lovely central hotel

Upgraded too

Posted 07-Mar-2016
Quirky hotel, unusually decorated. Comfortable with all the usual trimmings, and a glass of wine offered on arrival. Cannot fault it and all the better this time as upgraded to a suite.
