Relaxing

Posted 21-May-2015 on Hotels
The South Lodge is a relaxing place with finer service. Food was very well served and the signature restaurant The Pass is a step outside the typical Lodge experience. We enjoyed the grounds with a walk. The area is also full of promise with a short drive to many other attractions.

Luxurious way to spend our wedding anniversary

Posted 30-Mar-2015 on Hotels
We had dinner in the Camellia and lunch in The Pass - the food is superb and the staff are efficient, friendly and courteous. Our room overlooked the downs and was large and very comfortable. After diner we sat in the lounge listening to the piano player over a good glass of port. This is not our first visit to South Lodge and certainly wont be our last. We're already booked in again for June for my husband's birthday!

Great weekend at the South Lodge Hotel Horsham

Posted 24-Mar-2015 on Hotels
Beautiful hotel very friendly and efficient staff. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was huge and well appointed.Breakfast was perfect and although we only ate one evening in the bar this was lovely and were treated to great service. We were staying for a wedding on the Saturday, but stayed for 2 nights, and will definitely go back again hopefully in the near future. Also we left behind some phone chargers but after calling the hotel on the Monday we received them in the post Tuesday morning.

Top Class Stay

Posted 23-Feb-2015
Pros: Afternoon tea was a fabulous experience, not cheap but worth every penny.
Cons: There is a fitness centre (which we didn't get time to try) but sadly no pool or spa facilities.
Location: The hotel grounds provide an interesting walk through some ancient woodland but not much else to do locally. Horsham is a 10min drive though.
South Lodge met and exceeded our expectations during our recent stay. It was just over 10yrs since we last visited and the service has definitely gone up a notch or two. We attended for a 50th birthday celebration and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff couldn't have made us more welcome and made a special fuss of our 6yr old daughter.

Superb quality from a bygone era

Exceptional! All round! Staff, property, rooms, buffet breakfast, this hotel was the beacon of the eight hotels we stayed at during our holiday. Be sure to make enough time to explore the building and the extensive grounds.

Expensive weekend

Posted 13-Jan-2015
Pros: Warm friendly staff, nothing too much trouble
Cons: The walk up to car park is quite dimly lit, so more lighting would be helpful
Very nice hotel, staff couldn't be more helpful, food excellent

Amazing Stay

Posted 31-Dec-2014 on Hotels
I had an amazing stay at this hotel, I booked it as a birthday surprise for my boyfriend and he was not disappointed! The staff were lovely and welcoming, the food was superb and the rooms fantastic, particularly the bathrooms! The one point I would make is that I assumed because I had booked a room at the hotel I would be able to get a table at either one of the restaurants which was not the case, I had to book a table at the Crab Tree Inn next door (who were lovely)as both the restaurants were fully booked a month in advance when I had originaly booked the room. It was only when I phoned on the day we were due to stay, on the off chance there may have been a cancelation, that I was told I would be able to get a table in the Camellia restaurant at the hotel and I'm so very pleased I did or I would have missed out on a superb meal! Thank you for a Brilliant stay, we will be back!
