Pros: See above
Cons: Repairs to the room facilities
Location: Love the fact it is away from the main Strip. Way too congested on the Strip.
Very comfortable and enjoyed the staff. Made me feel appreciated.

Nice hotel with amazing views of the strip!

Posted 18-Aug-2017
Pros: clean, nice sportsbook, good food, location, views, gaming options, clean rooms, professional staff, nice swimming pools, etc...
Cons: we didn't see any glaring need for improvement???
Location: plenty to do at the rio but palms is close & only a quick cab/uber to the strip, also there's a new dispensary within walking distance
after a bit of a wait in the check in line, we made it to the counter, where we were told our king bedroom suite was being upgraded!!! we then listened as we were told they we're putting us in a suite on the top floor(39th) a 1,600 sq ft beauty, with breath taking views(especially at night), a jacuzzi tub, multiple rooms, bathrooms, couches, refrigerators, tv's, safe, closets, etc... long story short, whether it was shaking our booties at the rooftop bar/club till wee hours in the morning or enjoying the gaming and buffet, we had one of our best visits to Vegas in a long time. we can't thank the RIO enough!!! they didn't know that my wife is battling Hodgkin's currently for the third time, has lupus(which is active) nor that she hadn't been able to visit Vegas for some eight years because we have an ill son(autism, mute, spina bifida, melanoma) and her motherly responsibilities have not allowed a get away of any kind. again, THANK YOU RIO, we had an amazing time and will be visiting again, hopefully in the future.

Had made a reservation through Expedia. Wasn't made aware of the resort fee. It was exceptionally loud in the lobby and I could hardly hear anything that the person at the registration desk said to me. Obviously I missed the fact that we would incur a cost for this fee. I couldn't even tell you what the resort fee entails. Be sure that you listen carefully at check-in . . . then you might understand what is included in this fee.

Dirty and old

Posted 17-Aug-2017
The hotel itself is run down, the room was filthy dirty. I will never stay there again. That will be the one and only time. I stay in Vegas a lot and thought I might like staying a little off the strip...bad idea and never again. There was something smeared across the headboard which was made of fake leather and had holes in it. There was an eaten lollipop stick stuck to the inside of the window. All the furniture was old and scratched and marked up. The carpet was dark brown and was dirty all around the edges...I walked around with white socks on...bad idea because I found out exactly how dirty the carpet was. The shower curtain was dirty. The six nights we stayed there the housekeepers only "cleaned" the room twice. The other days I had to call for more towels and toilet paper. Overall horrible experience. This "suite" was on par with an old motel six... sad!!

ok hotel

Posted 17-Aug-2017
Pool was nice, rooms were outdated. It's a 30 min walk from the strip, 5-6 mins by uber/cab. The staff was nice, they were polite and extremely helpful. The hotel need some TLC as it's showing it's age. The casino was all smoke, more so than other casinos I've been to.

Disgusting

Posted 15-Aug-2017
Disgusting hotel, disgusting facilities, disgusting staff, disgusting food. I would compare the quality and experience to being on a small Carnival Cruise ship, which is disgusting. Don't eat at the Rio, don't relax at the Rio, don't hang out at the Rio. Even just sleeping at the Rio set up a bad tone for each day of my vacation. Spend the extra cash to stay somewhere else, so you're whole trip isn't ruined by this nasty hotel.
