The host was great in greeting in person. The staff was extremely helpful. Didn't know there was limited kitchenware so could not make food on own. The staff went beyond to help me sort out the problem :)

Not fancy but it works
We had the family room, which is in a basement, raw walls, nothing fancy but lots of space and beds for the whole family. Functional kitchen, wifi works well, shower as well, nothing to complain about. The stairs to go down are a very narrow spiral, not easy with large suitcases. Service is gruff but friendly, restaurant is OK, convenient since it's on site and you're far away from everything. It is pretty close to Husafell however, so if you need that kind of room for a reasonable price it's a good option. Very quiet surroundings, nice view of rolling fields.

Nice host, nice living room/ common area to sit. Did not get breakfast. The room we had was just too small. There is barely room for 2 people to unpack a suitcase or move around as there is only the space between the beds. But for 1 person, ok.

Two-night stay in late July. Very quiet location about 25 minutes from the center of Bogarnes. Despite several families with young children also staying in the house we had a very quiet stay. Dinner was excellent and, although options were more limited than other places we'd stayed, breakfast was good too. Biggest downside is the distance to Bogarnes and activities out on the peninsula. Not a deal breaker but something to keep in mind.

This is a very clean remote location with fantastic view and possible catch northern lights. The owner is very nice and the meal was good too. Thank you!

Good place
Nothing to complain about the place. Only problem is that they do not answer the phone. I tried to call them, for 2 days, because I forgot my power bank in my room. They never answered. I even don't know if they found, as I can't talk to them. The food is amazing!

The site offers a very pleasant respite from being a "rushing to see everything" tourist. Olavur and his wife do everything possible to make you comfortable. His cooking is excellent and the breakfast was one of the best meals we had on this trip.

Great hideaway!
We stayed in the downstairs room which was clean and comfortable. It is literally in the middle of nowhere which was our aim, so we were totally pleased with the whole experience.

The hard part was finding it. Paper maps & google map directions not quite adequate because of the lack of good road sign posting. But the views were gorgeous, the owners nice & the breakfast buffet was very nice.

Ideal for group of friends with car
Very clean and comfortable for group of four girlfriends staying two nights. Planned in advance to prepare own meals...kitchen had all the necessities. Suggestion to hang a second mirror somewhere as the available one was in the bathroom, which with four girls was usually occupied...travelling companions were attempting to put in contacts with make-up mirrors. Proprietors were welcoming and responded quickly to any questions. Would return/recommend to others.

Out of town guesthouse. Clean and cozy
Far from everything, which is good and bad. Clean and comfy. Typical Icelandic breakfast. No kitchen access unless you book the suite downstairs. Everything was great.

Do yourself a favor and stay here
This guesthouse is in out in the country but easy to get to. Getting there is a drive through paradise. The surrounding area is serenely quiet, all you hear is the birds. Our room had a little balcony and large windows with a breathtaking view of the plains and soaring mountains beyond. The room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. What makes this place special is the host family. We felt like we were staying with family. There is a comfortable living area downstairs to enjoy the views or read a book. They also have a spacious dining area and the host/chef offers delicious home-cooked meals.

Very comfortable lodging
It’s run by a very friendly Icelandic couple. The breakfasts and dinners were excellent, the best food on our trip so far. I highly recommend this guesthouse.

most memorable stay in Iceland
My family of 4 stayed in the upstairs family comfort room with balcony and private bath. The view of surrounding farmland was serene and beautiful, and the entire interior of building was clean and charming. We had the meatballs and cod casserole which were both amazingly delicious. Best meal in Iceland hands down. We didn't do breakfast because my kids don't eat enough in the morning to warrant the price. Staff was warm and friendly, you could hear birds chirping outside in the endless green fields, and it was just lovely. The dirt road leading to the location is a non-issue, it's flat straight and well maintained and was a short distance from the main road.

Nicely decorated inside, a little out of the way for the drive we were taking but had a nice stay. Breakfast not included so can't speak for the food.

Very hard to find and get too.
We booked the small room. It was over priced (we paid the same for a room in a hotel). The main problem was that the road to the guesthouse is a 10-15 min drive on a gravel road. This is an important thing no one mentioned to us.

Friendly hostess with a nice breakfast. Saw the northern lights here after being awakened by the hostess. Her place is clean and spacious in the common area. The room was small but that does not bother us.

They were very accommodating in preparing and serving us a very delicious dinner at our specified time (which was not really a normal time for dinner). They were very helpful in making our travel plans. It might be a little more helpful in finding their facility if they were to have a few more makers along the roads to their guesthouse.

very nice in the middle of nowhere
This guesthouse is very nice. The shared bathroom is impeccably clean. There are a few things on the listing that are misleading. There is no spa tub. They are referring to a natural hot spring many km down the road which is tiny and filled with pond scum. (all the natural ones are in summer actually) If you are not travelling in a vehicle and want to be able to leave the hotel and walk around, this is not for you. If you are a family travelling on a budget and end your day early, this is a great place to have a wonderful meal before turning in and waking to a plentiful breakfast.
