the B & B is situated at the main road that runs through the city - its a very noisy road due to the tiles the cars are running on. The rates of rooms are way too high in my opinion. But the host was sweet and helpsome.

Great location, parking free in the area, make sure you have the blue disc to display on your dash. If you don’t have one they are available at the tourist store in the Cloth Hall

Ideal location and very friendly host. I booked this though on the understanding there was free parking, i got a ticket on day 1, the nearest free abailable parking was a good 10 minute walk away across a busg road. There was parking at the b and b but it was 11 euros a day, something i was not aware of before i booked.

Very good and recommended
We spent just one night here. It is well positioned within walking distance of both the town centre and the Menin Gate. The place was very well presented and the rooms were modern and comfortable. The furnishings and the facilities were excellent. The breakfast was continental style with a wide range of options and the owner was very attentive and helpful. Overall we had a very good experience and would most certainly recommend it to others

I had a great time at the B&B Hortensia and would thoroughly recommend it to travellers interested in discovering what Ypres has to offer. The location is central and parking is provided. The room was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The breakfast choice was extensive and the host also prepared packed lunches for us at extremely short notice. Excellent!

Historical Break
A good location to visit Ypres and the surrounding area. A short walk to many attractions and restaurants. The hosts are welcoming and efficient. Nice breakfast.

Both, an earlier check-in and a later check-in are always possible. This must have been the case with you too. Unfortunately we can't offer a 24-hour service. But then we have worked out a nice solution for this.

The cleanest b&b anywhere
Excellent position, about 5 minute walk from Flanders Fields Museum. The owner was a very pleasant, helpful lady. Breakfast was varied, and tasty, a nice touch was the availability of a packed lunch. The rooms were spacious, and we'll presented. But the most outstanding feature was the cleanliness. Easily the cleanest brightest b&b \hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere! Would I stay there again? Undoubtedly.

Fantastic location inside the city gates and a five minute walk to the square and cloth hall. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. It was perfect for a stay in Ypres and I would have no hesitation recommending this B&B to friends.

A great Hotel in Ypres
We were looking for a small provincial hotel, just a short walk from the town square and the Menim Gate. We were made welcome from the minute we arrived until we checked out. This hotel is a must if you are staying in Ypres.

This is a lovely B&B. I would highly recommend it and I will stay here again the next time I'm in Ypres. It was a short walk to everything I wanted to see in the town but close to the exit too. The hostess was warm and welcoming.

Faultless stay at Hortensia B&B and I would highly recommend it. Veronique was very helpful with any questions I had about Ypres. The breakfast was very good and there is the facility to have tea or coffee in the room. The B&B was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. Great stay.

Very Nice Hotel

A Super B&B in Ieper (Ypres)
A visit to Ieper, our first time here and we looked for a town centre B&B. Hortensia ticked all the boxes. About 10 minutes walk to the Menin Gate and very convenient for a stroll along the ramparts.

Well located B&B in quiet part of Ieper: 10 mins walk from City Centre but nice quiet location even though on main road. Easy check-in and out. Owners extremely friendly and helpful. Nice, clean and comfortable rooms with full access to tea and coffee facilities. A good bed gives a good night's sleep, which it did. Superb breakfast with both cooked and continental available - try the scrambled eggs which were always done to perfection... On street parking in adjacent streets and Parking Permit available from owners for certain areas in town. A great B&B and one which I wouldn't hesitate to return to.

A very special visit
We stayed two nights at this B&B in late September. Veronique and her family run a very comfortable B&B in this interesting town. The In Flanders Fields museum in town and the Menin Gate ceremony are quite sobering reminders of what occurred in this vicinity during WW I. We rented bicycles from the B&B (10 euros per day), and Veronique was nice enough to lay out a circuit for us to bike to the Passchendaele museum and the Tyne Cot cemeteries. Aside from the history of the battles, the Passchendaele museum offers French-, British-, and German-style trenches and bunkers which you can walk through -- a very worthwhile visit. The bike ride through the Flanders countryside past WW I cemeteries and battlefields, windmills and farms was wonderful. Breakfast at the B&B consisted of eggs, bacon, and an incredible assortment of other possibilities, some homemade. A very special visit.

Delightful B&B in a good location
Delightful B&B, just a 10 minute walk from the Menin Gate and the centre of Ypres. Comfortable and clean with a nice breakfast. Hostess was utterly charming and helpful. The only downside was the two flights of steep stairs, but we coped and she helped us up with our cases. Ask about the parking disc, so you can park nearby.
