"Don't think they changed sheets...two dirty spots "
Breakfast over too early ..til 9:00AM only. Most hotels I've stayed serve til at least 10:00 AM. Checked out by 10:35AM & asked if we can stay in room a few minutes to wait for our friends to call & was told "No". This was very unreasonable as there no other guest there & the cleaning crew wasn't waiting & our items were akready out.

We've stayed at better places, but also worse. This was in the middle. We had 2 queen sized beds, non-smoking room. WiFi was a joke and it was better to not connect via WiFi to get access to the internet through our cell providers. Hoping to not have to use our data, but we had to if we wanted connection.
This is an old place, so don't expect new stuff at all. The door locks are awful. They know that, so they have a sign at the front desk telling you that you have to try both ways to open the door, either up or down. And you have to use force to get into the room by pushing hard on the door. The door lock seemed broken, but it wasn't. It's just really old and hard to use.
Our bathroom faucet leaked, so that's a waste of water. They really should just do some remodeling for things like this. The place was clean, however, and it was spacious. Our room had access to the gated pool area. Our room faced away from the pool, so we had a door to the pool, as well as a door to the parking lot.
For just under $90 out the door (room + taxes/fees), this was an okay price. It was further from Joshua Tree than we had hoped and going through Yucca Valley to Joshua Tree are a lot of stop lights that aren't timed well during the day. If you want to be closer to Joshua Tree National Park and don't want to drive the half hour or more from the park's gate to this place, choose a motel in Joshua Tree.
Most places we saw on the main road for overnight accommodations looked old

At Joshua Tree Village, the west entrance to Joshua Tree National Park is home to the year-round Joshua Tree Visitor Center and the Black Rock Nature Center (open October - May). The area's Black Rock Canyon provides views of wildlife and spring blooms, and a journey into Covington Flats brings dirt roads that offer access to some of the park's largest Joshua trees, junipers, and pinyon pines.
