"An excellent B&B in a very rural location"
A recently added B&B facility on to what is an old traditional pub in the centre of a small village a mile or so off the main A458 road leading to the Mid-Wales coast. Very welcoming and helpful host, good breakfast and a very clean and well equipped bedroom and en suite. Certainly not the usual type of 'pub with a couple of bedrooms' that has blighted other overnight stays in the past as this place is so much better and a credit to the owners. My Saturday stay was quiet and uneventful and I would fully recommend it, especially in an area not endowed with too many good B&B facilities.

"Retreat from the London Life"
As a lone traveler without a vehicle I was a bit worried about the remoteness of Big Bear Lodge but this was also exactly what I was after as a retreat away from the busy city of London. The Dann's were incredibly helpful even providing me with an OS map to explore the local area. The lodge was gorgeous and the friendliness of the hosts rubbed off onto the guests. Overlooking the hills of Wales and sheep it was a glorious setting to unwind. Shrewsbury is not far away if you do fancy getting back to reality. The bed was comfortable and the shower was lovely although I did have to run the hot water a little first but this wasn't an issue. Relaxed, friendly and comfortable I really did enjoy my stay.

"Nice hotel close to the Lake Vrynwy"
Quite noisy because the pub is downstairs. We checked-in after 10.00 pm and there wasn´t any problem at all.
