The toilet roll kept coming off the toilet roll holder. The roll size of the paper was too big for the holder. Apart from that everything was great.

The parking area outside the hotel was occupied by multiple taxis all the time preventing guests from loading or unloading most inconvienent

1. The hotel reception didn’t know about Expedia VIP benefits until I repeated asked them about it. I was only given 2 free drinks vouchers because kids “didn’t” count. 2. We have stayed at James Cook several times before. The room is clean and comfortable. We moved both beds to have more spaces for our luggages. Housekeeping needs to clean the reads unseen, there’s quite a bit of stuff there(pills, hair clips etc). 3. Buffet breakfast was quite good with plenty of hot and cold choices. The old “chef” there could perhaps be a bit more friendly. 4. Overall we are pretty happy with the hotel and will definitely stay again.

The property was good. Room was specious. Reception staff member war horrible. He charged me extra amount despite I was holding Expedia paid online booking voucher for car parking which is surprising. They returned the amount afterwards.

Great place to stay if your visiting Wellington, its in the CBD area, walking distance yo the shops around, walking distance to the tourist site in Wellington.

The window had a leak and cold air blowed all night. Since it was a windy night, it felt like train was passing all night with the sound of compressed air howling. The property looks like 3 star at best. The bathroom looks old and faded.

I was very happy indeed. Excellent location. Water pressure in the shower was a bit low, but that is easy to cope with. Instructions for using the TV remote would be helpful. Not everyone works that out intuitively.

The only negative thing I would say. Please ask if we are done with our plates before you take them off the table. Very rude. I would have fork in hand and she would be taking my plate. Other than that the stay was wonderful.

Really lovely staff, super thoughtful and helpful! We loved the good mornings from the staff including the cleaners. However, the beds them selves and the bedding is really average. The morning of check out 8:30-9am we were sleeping and a staff member had lightly knocked on our door and entered before we yelled out we were still in there. An announcement of some sort would have been appreciated especially since we are two females. Check out is at 10am. Other than that loved that there were cafes and facilities on site.

We are travelling down the islands, mainly staying in Airbnb but decided to stay at the Cook hotel for this part of our trip. The staff were helpful and responsive. The downstairs lobby area was modern and bright, however the room we had on the 17th floor was dated and was desperately in need of bringing into the 21st century. Everything worked ok though, which I think was the only reason we stayed. The bnbs have been much better and a cheaper option.
