Convenient hotel

Pros: Conveniently located.
Cons: There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in our room - not pleasant.
We arrived later than anticipated and only just managed to get dinner - members of staff were very courteous and accommodating which was appreciated. Wine prices are extortionate though.

Pros: Clean room
Cons: Noise at back of hotel
Location: Not much going on around.
Found the Mercure Watford okay except for the two football pitches right outside our bedroom window, matches went on from 4 o'clock when we got there until 9.30 at night. Very noisy.

I had a pleasant overnight stay The room was clean and well suited to my needs. All the staff I met were warm and welcoming. The food was fine but the restaurant was cold. The hot tub was truly relaxing. I thoroughly enjoyed my spa experience. Vicky and Alex are superb and I felt thoroughly pampered.

Invoice difficulty

I wanted vat invoice for breakfast purchase when checking in but was told to wait until following morning for correct paperwork . Was not happy about that as I needed to get away early and did not want to bother about checking out in the morning .

Horrific place from start to Finnish and everything in between. I certainly do not advise anyone to stay.

Room and staff pleasant and helpful Stairlft needs attention as not able to access bar or swimming pool area Decor needs modification in some areas with holes and chipped plaster

September work stay

Pros: Pool & Gym facilities
Cons: Responsiveness to room service
Generally speaking hotel reception staff were welcoming and helpful. Trying to order room service directly didn't work, although when I walked to the restaurant or reception staff were again generally helpful. I used the swimming pool during my staff which was clean and a nice space, however other guests behaviour - leaning out of the fire exit for a cigarette and throwing the remains of their drinks of water in the pool - could have been checked by the presence of staff.

Noisy from wedding parties at the hotel. Bath dirty - full of hairs. Got sick, probably from the breakfast, no reply from complaint to hotel.
