Comfortable stay in convenient location

Posted 13-Aug-2017
We wanted a short stay hotel near Watford Junction for our visit to Warner Bros Studio tour. Also convenient for onward journey into London Euston. The hotel was 2 minutes walk from the train station and only a 10 minute walk into Watford town centre. We arrived too early for check in but was able to stow our bags and explore the town and its lovely Cassiobury Park. Staff were polite and helpful throughout our stay, breakfast was very good and the room had everything we needed. Would use again.

Right next to station but not overly noisy

Great staff with clean, modern accommodation. Shower was powerful, extra bed was big and roomy, air con and heating were necessary. There was an adequate choice of food for breakfast and plenty of tables to cope even at busy times.

Comfortable room not so good other facilities

Posted 06-Aug-2017
Pros: Cleanliness, comfort, space and bathroom in room
Cons: Staff training to include customer service in all areas. Food, especially breakfast-needs to be hot, fresh and tables need to wiped for next guests.
Location: Easy access to transport but no idea about anything else in vicinity of hotel-more information needed
Overall whole room and facilities were very clean. Very comfortable beds. Room (to sleep 3) was very spacious with a lovely bathroom-seems like it has been recently refurbished. There was hair and body wash to use which is very useful on a 2-night stay. 10 out of 10. Breakfast was not very good on first day (food cold and had to ask for more hot food) -to reasonable on second day-food had been left for an unreasonable amount of time, so sausages were shrivelled-up and beans were overcooked but was hot. Continetal breakfast was good. All self service. BF- 5 /10. On entering hotel reception was well presented, quite small but adequate. 8/10. Reception was quick to sort check-in and helpful when answering questions-can't say friendly but not unfriendly-if that makes sense? 6.5 /10. Had evening meal in hotel as area around hotel didn't feel particularly safe. Although that's just how I felt-there were several homeless people shouting out after I had parked the car at the back of the hotel, which slightly unnerved me. 2/10 Evening meal was good, not great and not particularly reasonably priced. Order was not correct but no staff around to ask for it to be rectified and did not want to wait another 35 minutes for a new meal so I left it. Ordered a sweet and this was also incorrectly ordered but was fed by now so I left it. Staff were ok but not really fussy about making sure we were adequately happy or content with anything-customer service rating 4 out of 10. Food 6/10.

Nice amenities but...

Posted 25-Jul-2017
We booked for 4. Two adults find 2 teens. They only had double beds. Very tight fit. Almost uncomfortable. Biggest problem was that air con stopped working and did not come back until end of day when workers were all off. They did give a smal credit so handled it well. I like to free local cell phone with each room and decent breakfast.

convenient

Pros: Everything was relaxed, you would not think you were in london.
Cons: Directions to the hotel. Well followed the sat nav and it took us to the train car park! a big sign would be good.
Location: Excellent location, very close to station and short walk into town.
Close to everything we needed, trains and town centre are walking difference. Breakfast was good, should have shut at 9.30am, but they kept it open for the late ones, my eldest is in a wheelchsir and he is not ine of the quickest of people. Thankfully there was air con, we were there during a hot spell. Room was clean and very roomy.

Perfect hotel near WB Studio Harry Potter

Posted 04-Jul-2017
Pros: I liked it's proximity to the WB Harry Potter tour and also the Watford Junction station.
Cons: I would say the breakfast selection. It was rather limited.
Location: Harry Potter tour! And with the Watford Junction station so close by, you can get into central London without issue.
My husband and I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the WB Studio Harry Potter tour in Leavesden. It had good reviews (which was important to us). The staff was friendly when we checked in and answered all of our questions (about getting a cab to the studio) and even booked a cab for us. The room was a good size and cleaned daily. We will absolutely stay here again! We thought that it would be difficult taking the tube into London, but it was not. There is actually an express train that goes from Watford Junction to Euston that is only 20 minutes! And then you're only one stop from King's Cross St. Pancras so you can also hit up the Platform 9 3/4 store and photo op. The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast. There was sausage, ham (British bacon), white/wheat bread for toast, rolls, 4 different cereals, baked beans, eggs, a couple different yogurts, a juice machine, and milk machine (which I used a lot!), and maybe a few other things that were cold. There were not any croissants when I got there even though it was only halfway through the weekend breakfast hours. Overall, a great value and location for you if you're going to the Harry Potter tour and also if you're going into London. Just make sure you allocate enough travel time.

A pleasant surprise for a so-called budget hotel.

Posted 30-Jun-2017
Pros: Clean and modernised facilities.
Cons: Nothing, considering the type of hotel it is.
Location: very close to Watford Junction Station, with plenty of trains into London Euston.
We stayed for one night at the end of June. The hotel had clearly undergone a modernisation programme, which was well done. The room was plenty big enough and the facilities perfectly adequate, especially the en-suite, which had a large walk-in shower and a powerful water jet. The breakfast was basic, but adequate ... the 'usual' continental breakfast to be found in most UK hotels these days. we will gladly return if we need a bed near London in the future.
