Renovation makes it a bare-bones hostel
Did not know before I arrived, but the hotel is under renovation and should not be operating. You arrive through a service door, to a "reception" area in the garage entrance that is two people behind a folding table in a crowded dirty area. I actually thought I must be in the wrong place. One service elevator is working, so long waits for a dirty elevator with tape over unused floors. There is no restaurant or fitness center. The carpet in the hall is dirty, the room had no carpet, just the bare cement floor with a grungy rug under the bed. There were even problems that had zero to do with the renovation - little, but made me think even completing the renovation won't help much. For example, the refrigerator was unplugged and disassembled, there was no coffeemaker and, when they sent one, the cups were too big to fit in it (they told me to use the water glasses - won't they break with boiling water?) and the glass partition in the shower was so short that the bathroom flooded when I took a shower. On the bright side, the staff was nice although they clearly had had people complaining to them for quite some time, and the room was quiet. Way better hotels to be had at this price.
