Extra fees

Posted 31-Jan-2016
Good experience overall, except for hefty extra fees that you are asked to pay in addition to what was paid at reservation through Expedia. This included a fee for high speed internet access, apparently whether you want to get it or not...

Cerca de las atracciones

Posted 11-Jan-2016
Pros: Ubicación, Limpieza, Precio.
Cons: Wifi Gratis, Desayuno gratis, Atención, cobros inesperados.

Enjoyed the Hotel

Posted 08-Jan-2016
The hotel and staff provided a great experience. I traveled with my girlfriend and her cousins. I was responsible for the hotel arrangements, and I was able to impress everyone. Large rooms and accommodating staff really stood out. Wine hour was also great. I will be staying again.

Location: Fantastic. Close to Mall and DuPont. Really beautiful neighborhood.
It's a great location and run by efficient nice people. The room was clean and we were pleased. The halls and entry are a bit dated (slightly worn)...but for the price and what you get...I'm happy

Great location ! Five block walk to White House!!

Posted 28-Dec-2015
Pros: The nice them of red rooms, clean bathrooms, nice staff.
Cons: Get rid of the b.s. "destination" "fee".
Location: Everything like Dupont Circle, White House, etc. Great restaurants around the corner on 14th St NW (Ethiopian, etc.)
Love this hotel. Price is always great, especially on holidays when everyone skips town. BUT, I think the Destination Fee is B.S. because other hotels don't charge it. What do you get for it? "Enhanced speed internet" (whatever that really means in 2015-6), Coffee Service in the morning only. This amounts to $17+/day to your stay. This is crap. The only justification to put up with it is that a comparable hotel will be more expensive and not charge it. If enough folks complain about it, hopefully they will do away with this b.s. "fee".

Perfect boutique hotel for DC

Posted 23-Nov-2015
This place is such a great hotel for overnight trips to DC. I find the rooms to be extremely quiet and cool, and I don't feel like I'm staying at a generic old lady Marriott. Definitely would recommend this hotel particularly if you can book in advance to get the best rate.

Comfortable hotel just steps from the White House

Posted 12-Nov-2015
Pros: Location, design, room and cleanliness.
Cons: Would love a fridge.
Location: 15 minutes from the White House. The only issue was if drivers don't know this hotel they get lost in the circle going round and round.
Booked through Expedia. Bit of a mix-up when I initially arrived, but very quick to correct. Hotel doesn't have taxis out front so Uber is easier but it's right over a bridge so drivers get confused where the hotel is located. Had to direct several drivers to the hotel right after the circle. Hotel is two blocks from a Whole Foods which made it easy but I would have loved a refrigerator in the room. The rooms were large, clean and I loved the design. Deep, red velvet curtains and bold black and white patterns. The white seats in the room are incredibly uncomfortable so I ended up sitting in the office chair most of the time. There are no closets, only a corner space with a red drape to cover it. Breakfast downstairs was a bit confusing as there is an American and a Continental breakfast. They don't do a good job of explaining this and the waitress was a bit awkward when I asked. Otherwise I like that this was a bit of a smaller hotel with a great vibe and of course being Kimpton I love the happy hour.
