Front Historic but rest industrial and all tired

Posted 24-Jun-2016
Disappointing hotel. Staff wonderful. The Historic old Hall is what you see online but you will check in and stay at the back-- nasty 80's build and rather industrial. Fine if you have to, but not for a treat. Even the front part is very tired (too many budget weddings).

Not bad but over priced

Posted 13-Jun-2016
Enjoyed are stay here but was expecting more for the price. Picturns on website are mainly of the castle part which is the wedding and function area actual hotel is all new build and not as nice. Rooms are pretty small and dark. All rooms on top floor have ac but no opening window and we're very hot and stuffy and dark so asked to move to a balcony room which was much better. Pics of the rooms are of the suits and upgrade rooms not your standard rooms Spa facilities where quite good and the breakfast was brilliant. Staff very friendly and helpful I personally would not stay again mainly as I think you can get more for your money elsewhere

Great location

Posted 28-May-2016
We wanted a comfortable hotel in the countryside that had a good restaurant with friendly helpful staff. We were not disappointed and this was our second stay equally enjoyable as was the first. We shall return yet again soon!

Hotel near Stratford upon Avon

Posted 19-May-2016
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: It's in the middle of nowhere, far from everything and the road to get there is narrow.
This hotel supposedly a 4star was awful. I would rate it a 2 star at best. First the picture on the website is deceiving because the hotel I was in wasn't the beautiful building on the picture but a building that looked like a motel. The check-in staff couldn't get us checked-in rapidly it took over 30 minutes and we didn't have any issue with our confirmation or anything, just confused guy at desk. We had the same issue with another fellow on check-out day...I don't know but the staff seems very inefficient at this hotel. The room they assigned us was on the 3rd floor, very low ceiling, stuffy and the window wouldn't open. Thankfully upon asking they changed our room to a room on the ground floor. It wasn't stuffy and the door could open to a small outside area. The bathroom was awful, the room was for disabled and the shower had no wall. After a shower the entire bathroom was wet with water everywhere making it very dangerous to walk around. The pillows were ridiculous. We were with 3 other people and they all had the same very small almost inexistent pillows in their rooms. The mattress had buttons that were protruding making sleeping very uncomfortable, I dont know why they don't use mattress covers to protect the mattress and the sleeper. Also, the decorative cushions on the bed were filthy. The main area where the bar is is absolutely ugly with no ambiance whatsoever, it's like sitting in the middle of a corridor with tables and chairs. The breakfast was ok.

Beautiful Hotel

Posted 05-Apr-2016 on Hotels
Visited for a wedding, liked it so much we stayed an extra night. Beautiful hotel, stunning location. Staff were very helpful, let us check in early so we could change clothes ready for the wedding and offered complementary late check out so that we could use the pool the following morning. Loved it.

On arrival: a long drive from the main road to the manor house insured the relaxing and quiet environment for a peaceful stay, the grounds are beautiful and allowed for a stroll before dinner. The welcome was friendly and open, the lady on reception was fantastic. The other contact made with staff were positive. The room, number 34 more ideally labelled a suite, was on the third level with stairs, but was elegant and lavish with a large bed, seating area and both a bath and shower. I would stay here again.

Overall, very good

Posted 22-Mar-2016 on Hotels
Overall very enjoyable stay. Room size was large, heated well and had a stunning view of open countryside. Worth staying in the old hotel. If there is one area of improvement it is in delivery of drinks and food. The staff mostly seem very helpful, but there simply are not enough. There must have been approx 20 tables in the restaurant full on 2 sittings with only 3 wait staff including the manager to serve Do not let that distract you from what is a very enjoyable stay in wonderful surroundings - few hotels can offer the true tranquility of surroundings within 2 hours of london

Imposante 16e eeuwse Hall

Posted 07-Mar-2016 on Hotels
Prachtig gebouw. Goed restaurant. Zondermeer een prima aanrader.
