A very good location for walking into Leamington Spa. I liked the fresh modern decoration and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a shame that the bathroom was let down by the worn out dirty shower screen seal.

The whole service was very good and the hotel is close to the town centre which is just what I wanted, would come again.

Very Disappointing
Had to swap rooms 3 times, as door handle fell off one room after check in, then door wouldn't open on the second room, then finally got into the third. Also reception were adamant at check in that all 6 rooms that i had booked were not including breakfast, booking receipt definitely shows breakfast included. Ended up all of us when elsewhere in the morning for breakfast.

Gone downhill, used to be quite ok, but the place looks tired & they've made some poor changes, parking is now chargeable for overnight guests, which I really don't appreciate, you can no longer charge the bar to your room, which is a bit ridiculous for a hotel, and the breakfast ingredients were of poor quality.. We will not be staying here again.

I found the hotels feeling to be cold rather than warm and welcoming. Reception was fine, the room was OK (apart from the fact that it was in the roof space with loads of stairs and fire doors to negotiate before you actually got into it, with no lift being available). When you did get into the room, the bathroom doors entrance was restricted by the towel rail / radiator, carpets were baggy, but at least the bed and pillows were excellent. The cooked breakfast was average, a self service set up with plenty of choice, however good coffee and selection of fruits, yogurts and cereals etc. Perhaps its just me but I found the property to have no atmosphere at all.

Good for the price
A cheap night, cleaned daily but rooms needs some tlc. You can hear between walls and when they move furniture during the night. Good location though.bed okay.

We stayed in room 5 executive king. We had a lovely bay window but on trying to open then to let some cool air in we found they were painted shut so we had a very warm uncomfortable stay. Breakfast in the morning is buffet style continental and full English. I went for the full English and wow it was absolutely vile ,god knows who long the food had been sitting in the hot plates. We will never go back to this property again and my advice is look just a couple of miles away at the holiday inn £10 more per night but it’s worth it.

It was a very good stay except the bed was awful. It was a very low modern bed with wide wood surround that I kept bumping my leg on. The hotel did say it was going to be replaced this week.

only for small people who like lots of stairs
We were given room 16, somehow carved into the eaves - there was no way I'd fit into the bed, both height and length. After waiting 30min for receptionist, was offered a different room, one side very low ceiling - taller the 5ft you'd struggle. Also tiny bathroom doors, felt like 2 rooms had been made where only 1 should be. Place seems like it needs a good deep clean, vac, wipe down - a few leaks / drips in bathrooms. If you struggle with stairs might not be for you. Limited car parking so ended up on street.

The hotel is in an excellent location with free parking. 5 minute walk into town. The hotel has character and the room was spacious.

A great second visit to the Episode Hotel. The room was lovely. Very comfortable and spacious with quality bed linen - leading to a great night's sleep. The Breakfast buffet was well stocked although breakfast itself was noisy and a little hectic - perhaps that was our timing but another coffee machine would help.

Not horrible but wouldn’t return
The room is outdated and the walls are paper thin. I could hear the other room playing the tv. I didn’t hate it, but I wouldn’t return either. I think chain hotels are a safer choice. You know what you get. The pictures on the website for the hotel look really good and modern. The reality when you get here is different.

Under renovation
Unfortunately, apart from the staff being friendly and pleasant cannot say anything good. The hotel is very outdated, however the place is currently undergoing the renovation so in the future might be very nice. The room I stayed was extremely dusty and cold due to the old window.

Really bad experience
Awful. I understand that the hotel was being refurbished, but we were put in probably their oldest, crappiest room. Everything except the bedding was dirty and/or broken. I'm sure it will be lovely once it's finished, but sadly we did not get that experience. Broken taps, toilet did not flush, filthy curtains, broken window woild not stay open, holes in walls, dirty walls, broken headboard...... the photos say it all!!!

Ok hotel but needs to be modernised
The Episode was a generally ok hotel but in need of some modernising. Beds in room 27 were uncomfortable and should have been replaced. Staff at hotel were very good and helpful. Checking in was quick and easy. Breakfast was ok but could have more variety. Rooms are fine for space but outdated and bathroom quite old.

Perfectly ok but nothing special
A nice hotel in a good location. My room was very quiet. The bathroom was ok - nothing special. It was difficult to lock and unlock the door. Breakfast was good, especially the coffee which can often be disgusting in hotels. The staff were all extremely pleasant. The hotel could do with a bit of refurbishment but overall it was fine and I would stay there again

The experience would have been a lot better if Expedia had confirmed the booking. Fortunately there was one room left in the hotel when I arrived. The hotel had no record of Expedia reservation. :-(

Good option for a short stay or business trip. Only downside is that it says that breakfast is available at 7am. In reality it seems like they start to put out the breakfast at 7am. Meaning that if, like me, you need to be out of the hotel having checked out by 7.15, you tend not to get breakfast. Other than that, great.

Checked in and was given a room on the very top floor in the roof. Quite bizarre. Had a strange bed built into an alcove! White leather chairs and sweets on the bed! I asked to change to a room with an accessible double bed as not really into climbing in from the bottom of the bed these days! The young girl on reception was helpful and gave us a room on the ground floor. The place is very tired, not particularly clean and noisy. Didn't bother with breakfast was just glad to leave. Very disappointed. Wont be returning.

Great hotel.
Excellent location, lovely room and I couldn’t be more complimentary about their staff member Joe. I had to get away early the next morning and despite having worked a long shift he went out of his way to ensure I had everything I needed and got my train in time. I’ve been lucky to stay in some amazing hotels around the world but I would definitely put the service at the Episode on a par with that. Thank you.

I would not recommend this property, it is in need of a complete overhaul. A superior twin room has never seen superior. The property does not have a lift / elevator so you haul luggage up and down. The front desk is unable to transfer calls to rooms, they have to come and ask you to go down to the desk to take a call. Very disappointed as the website is not an accurate portrayal of this property. Highly overpriced!

Nightmare stay. Fawlty towers
After a 6hr train ride from the North East to Leamington I arrived and was given my room.My room door was unlocked which felt odd so i opened the door and the room was a mess, wet towels on the bed, used towels in the bath, bin overflowing and stale cups of tea on the side. I went downstairs and notified reception and they "upgraded" me to another room next door for my trouble. Opened that door and the bed looked like someone had just fell out of it with sheets all over, toilet roll on the floor and again stale cups so clearly hadn't been cleaned from previous occupier. Notified reception again and they arranged a bar man to clean my "original" room rather than the upgrade. So after a further 30mins I retired to my room which was then left with no cups or glasses for water. Shocking. On night 2 it was quite windy and I was kept awake until 3am in the morning with a constant loud bang, bang, bang. I left the next morning shattered for my training course at 8am, after returning to hotel at 7pm I spoke to reception and they advised me that someone had forgot to remove the canopy from the restaurant below my room which would have caused the loud bangs. When i went up to my room I found my door ajar, the cleaners had cleaned the room and decided to let the door close on its own rather than securing so the latch was open and had caught on the door frame leaving my room open for potentially 7-8hrs. Luckily nothing was missing.Notified reception who were not really fussed. Awful
