"Comfortable hotel in good location "
Stayed here for four nights in December. Lovely location. Quiet, cobbled street on the edge of the old town. Round the corner from a delightful little square served by several small bars, cafe's, restaurants and shops. Felt peaceful, relaxed and safe to walk around at any time of day or night.
The hotel was a warm and welcoming abode to return to after long winter days spent walking around the city. The lobby or foyer area was so cosy and inviting. Small, nicely decorated and furnished. Room125 on first floor overlooking front cobbled street was very spacious and light. It lacked, however, the lovely touches of the lobby area. Instead, it felt rather somber with the few items of furniture simply looking lost in the large area. That said, the room was served by good amenities such as effective lighting, comfortable seating, ample wardrobe and drawer space, an efficient individually controlled air conditioning/heating ststem, and a very attractive, functional bathroom. I found the bed very comfortable, although my husband complained of the mattress being too soft. Both of us agreed, however, that the pillows were lumpy affairs which could do with being of better quality. A pillow menu would be much appreciated by many, I'm sure. Saying that, I slept soundly every night. No small achievement for a light sleeper such as I.
Breakfast was plenty, although nothing special. Hot buffet was disappointing as eggs, sausages etc were consistently "rubberised". Cost far too high.
