Lovely hotel, but 'the bells! The bells!'

Posted 21-Dec-2015
Super, friendly staff. Lovely food. Lots of space in the room. The main problem was the bells at the church just 30metres from the hotel that clanged every 15minutes all day and all night, and then clanged out the hour as well. Short of putting ear plugs in, there was no way of avoiding the noise and it totally disrupted our sleep on each of the 4 nights we stayed there. If the hotel fits double glazing rather than the thin plate glass they currently have this would be an excellent venue. As it was, the bells kept us half awake all night. A shame as the staff were delightful and the food was excellent.

Warm and Welcoming

Posted 17-Dec-2015
Pros: Very friendly and well equiped, convenient to where we wanted to be and quiet.
Cons: For the price it was excellent
Location: Don't know, we only stayed there because it was close to a function we attended in Warminster.
Very friendly host who couldn't do enough for us. Room was a family room and was very spacious and well equiped to sleep 5. Excellent breakfast, a most enjoyable stay.

Overnight stay with fireworks!

Posted 12-Nov-2015
Pros: Warm, comfortable room with an excellent breakfast, friendly owners and staff
Cons: Just a more timely check on whether anyone had booked through Expedia.
Booked online a week in advance so rather surprised when received a phone call from Red Lion at 5.00 pm on day of stay to say there would be no bar food in the evening due to a scheduled event. Luckily we were not that hungry and event was a bonfire and fireworks evening so we had some bonfire barbeque food which easily sufficed. Red Lion gave us complementary tickets to the bonfire so we had a really enjoyable evening doing something totally unexpected.

Good little place to stop over

Posted 21-Oct-2015 on Hotels
Easy to find. Staff friendly though did have to wait as the bar tender was also the check in person and the pub was busy. Very nice clean room, good size. Well sound insulated. Only two downsides: the shower water pressure was poor, and breakfast is served 7.30-9 even on weekends. But was of good quality!
