Comfortable, pleasant pub stay.

Posted 25-Apr-2017
Very friendly and helpful manager, clean room, and an excellent breakfast. Not the most inspiring building - but that's not a problem. My only complaint would be that I didn't rate the breakfast coffee, but I am pretty fussy!!

Great nights stay in a warm friendly pub. Food 1st class ( nice to have real chips instead of fries) Beer great as well. The staff were attentive and the barmaid really 1st class. The landlord couldn't do enough for you even had a visit from the pub cat very friendly. Will return for sure can't recommend The Red Lion high enough.

Looking forward to staying here again in the future. The staff were all lovely and nothing was too much effort. They made us feel really welcome. We would definitely recommend the red lion to those staying in the area

Pros: Everything. Room was homely and had everything you could need. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.
Cons: There wasn't anything that I didn't like. Highly recommend it.
Location: It is 30 minutes drive from both Salisbury and Bath and only 9 minutes from Longleat.

great pub grub.

Posted 17-Sep-2016 on Hotels
A lovely hotel in a tiny village with a church, post office and one other pub. 3 miles to the nearest town. The owners were friendly (brummies) :) the garden was huge and a suntrap and the evening meals were excellent. Huge portions at a good price and hand cut chips. Really enjoyed this hotel.
