Fantastic B&B in a lovely village

Posted 30-Aug-2016
The staff were very accommondating, the room was a great size and the pub is lovely. We were very pleased with our room, which was beautifully decorated and plenty of roomfor our family of 4. I very much enjoyed having a soak in the roll top bath. The room was clean, comfortable and have everything we needed. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked very good. I would reccomend having dinner in the pub, as the food is fantastic quality, rustic food for a reasonable price.

Shower in room needed. Had a room sleeping four. Great room except getting four people ready in morning with only a bath is not easy.

What a fantastic B&B!

Posted 13-May-2016
Pros: Lovely building, nice staff, clean
Cons: Possibly the food - some of it was a bit overcooked and bland
Location: Nice village, and we went to Longleat which is about 25 min drive away
We stayed one night at the George Inn after visiting Longleat and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely staff and a beautiful, sensitively renovated building in a great location. We would definitely stay again if we're ever in the area!

Solid country inn.

Lovely inn in the middle of Mere, a 15 minute drive from Longleat and surrounded by great countryside. Only drawback of the room was the noise from the local pub downstairs - we slept through it though. The really sweet element of the visit was the service - we came for a bike ride and the staff was very helpful. Pub food was also quite decent

Pros: Familienzimmer war sehr geräumig
Cons: Nein

Nice pub, room was quirky loads of character -but when making the booking I informed them that my son was a coeliac and was on a gluten free diet unfortunately they didn't have a clue what this meant (I over heard one lady say gluten is good for you its full of protein)- breakfast was included in the price but all they could offer him was a poach egg and bacon!!! VERY POOR( there is a coop next door that sells gluten free bread so really - no excuse)
