Hotel looks very pleasing on the outside, easy to get to, great for my ultimate destination. Facilities, e.g. shower, and general room decor are a step back in time. Paper thin walls mean yuo get to hear all your neighbours 'movements'!

I stayed at the York House Hotel for 5 days in a single room. The room was bright with a small shower in the corner and a separate room with loo and hand basin. Linen was changed regularly and the hotel staff were friendly. Apart from the night when the room next door left the light/extractor fan on in their bathroom, the room was quiet and I slept as well as I could in a single bed. The deal included breakfast but it was awful. I tried several options during my stay but ended up eating just cereal. All the cooked options were very greasy and the toast was soggy and barely browned. On the first night I had lasagne in the restaurant - that was awful too, sitting in a lake of cheesy tomato soup (I couldn't call it a sauce there was so much of it).
Lovely surroundings, staff excellent, pool etc, great, breakfast very good.Bed was two singles put together, nicer if had been king or even double, also mattress bit lumpy, could do with a topper.Overall a lovely chilled break
