The reason for our stay was a friends wedding, my fiance was playing there. We arrived there early so that he could set up his equipment so I did think we would have a wait before we could check in but luckily there was no wait and a room was available straight away. The hotel itself is very big so was a bit a maze to find our room. The room itself was nice had a comfortable bed and a large flat screen tv, it also had an iron and board but was surprised it did not have a hairdryer. I was also disappointed with the bathroom, the sink units looked quite posh but it was spoilt but the cheap looking bathroom door but they worst thing was the bath, there was rust coming down inside the bath from the metal handle which was very hard to rinse off as the shower was not moveable and would have been impossible to have bath in due to this. Apart from the bathroom the facilities were very good, there was lovely swimming pool and Jacuzzi and the hotel has spa treatments such as manicures and massages.

Overall the stay at the hotel was good. The hotel has ample parking at the front of the site and near reception so that was good, all of the hotel rooms were less then 20 secs from the car park so if you have brought a few bags that shortens the trip back and forth to the car down abit. The reception building seemed to be quite nice and had just been freshly painted by the looks of it. On arrival to my room I have to say the external view of the room block did look tired and could definitely do with being repainted, it also seemed to have some peeling paint and a fair amount of old dirty cobwebs which were not particularly appealing. The room itself was good for what I needed, simple with basic features. It was clean to my eye and didn't have any faulty decor etc. however the bathroom did not have a locking door which was somewhat annoying as I was staying with a work colleege. The room only had two plug sockets and one was being taken up by the TV so I recommend you bring a power strip with you if you intend to have multiple mains powerd devices.. The beds and linen were clean and comfortable so don't really have a problem with any of that. The biggest problem I came across was door entry, we were only given one card and were told we couldn't have another due to "security" reasons, this did cause a few issues as it meant if one person left, one of us would need to stay nearby or we wouldn't be able to get back in... overall for short stays this is a decent option to consider
The hotel is in two parts,on the island stands 18th century Walton Hall with restaurant bar and pool, while on the mainland stands the accommodation and breakfast room.Picturesque with a bridge linking the two it's popular for weddings . Golf and fishing are also attractions . We chose it for a leisure break as it's only a few miles from the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Hepworth Gallery. We'd certainly come back to explore more of West Yorkshire.

"Excellent guesthouse more like a 4 or 5 star hotel"
I've stayed at Foxwoods many times and it never fails to please. It's clean, very comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The setting is lovely and peaceful and the wildlife are a pleasure to watch. The amenities are good and I always enjoy the breakfasts.
