Less than 10 minute walk from the Rijksmuseum and other attractions. 1 minute to a bus/tram stop. We took the tram into the centre , which took about 25mins, it is walkable (30/40mins) but can be difficult to navigate due to canals and many streets. Staff were very helpful, allowed us to leave luggage in a luggage room after we had checked out at 11.00 but our flight was at 21.00. Low noise levels. Great stay.
"Nice hotel, good location, breakfast spread good"
The hotel consists of three residential buildings and we were in one of the buildings across the road from the main lobby. The room was clean and comfortable for our party of three. The staircase up to our floor reminded me of treehouse-stairs, but I'm assured that such is common in old EU houses. The furniture is fine for a week long stay, but some of it is creaky and seems unreliable. Breakfast spread was very good, the best in the four hotels we stayed in throughout our multicity hop. The lobby receptionist could have done well going through our room choices and reminding us that breakfast wasn't included; it was included in two of the four places we stayed in, so we had assumed it was here too. Nevertheless, breakfast was a very good bargain. Neighbourhood is quiet and residential (I'm told upscale too). Very easy access to the convenient tram system and the canal district, couple of nice late-night eateries close to the hotel, and Vondelpark (a sort of central-park-NYC like park) is minutes walk away.
Great location for peace and quiet in leafy residential area next to park. Restaurants and small supermarket nearby and tram stops. Quick access to museum area. Staff very friendly and room reasonable size for a capital city, clean and with everything we needed.

Very good location near tram stop for easy access to all of amsterdam, although also within walking distance. Nice restaurant and bar with extremely helpful and friendly staff. Rooms have good amenities except no English tea!!
Wall paper and trim falling off wall. Fan in bathroom did not work. Door has to be locked from inside or outside-does not automatically lock. Very old creaky stairs. Only one (set of) outlet in the room. Location is great.

We stayed here the last week of July and loved it. The location, very close to Vondelpark and convenient for Tram 2 was perfect for us. Easy to get to the museums and other attractions. Excellent restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Breakfast was adequate. We had a room on the bottom floor and found the narrow stairs a bit of a challenge, but worth it for our quiet room with a small patio.

This was a very quaint hotel in a more residential area of Amsterdam yet close in enough to walk to cafe's and the Museum district. The bathroom was a bit small and you will have to deal with banged elbows in the shower but I think that's common in the old buildings of Europe. The hotel was clean and staff very helpful. A great little garden to have a glass of wine in was located just to the rear.
Our first trip to Amsterdam. We selected a hotel not too close to the centre but also not too far out. The Conscious Museum Square was ideal and we found good places to eat nearby as well as further afield in the Old part of the City. Spent a lot of time walking alongside canals and visiting the small shops along the way. Ate well at De Blauwe Hollander on Leidsekruisstraat and at Loetje on Johannes Vermeerstraat. Found a great place for coffee and sandwiches/cakes at de Koffie schenkerij which is adjacent to the Oude Kerk - One of the rooms is where Rembrandt married Saskia. Prices for food and drink was not as expensive as we thought it would be.
We walked miles but found few public benches, especially near canals, where you can sit and watch without having to buy a drink.
Need to keep your wits about you when crossing roads as bikes and scooters seem to come from all directions and are reluctant to stop!
Lots to see and do in Amsterdam. The 197 bus service was a lot easier getting back to Schipol Airport than using the train and tram.
This large grassy space is a great place to escape the bustle of the city. In summer Amsterdammers come here to stroll, jog, roller-skate, sunbathe, listen to free concerts and watch the buskers and children’s entertainers. The Nederlands Filmmuseum is a very popular cinema (free outdoor screenings in summer) with an excellent café restaurant. The Hollandse Manege is a charming period building and home to the Dutch Riding School.
