Nestled atop the foothills of Vista in San Diego's North County, this three-bedroom Spanish hacienda also includes an office with a double trundle bed and a game room with a queen sleeper sofa. As you wind up the palm-lined private gated driveway, you're welcomed by a grand fountain inspired by the Bethesda Fountain in New York City's Central Park. Originally built in 1926, this secluded adobe home sits on a 1.45-acre estate and exudes timeless character, with original Spanish tiles, brickwork surrounding the great room fireplace, exposed wood beams, and solid wood doors throughout. This is authentic California indoor-outdoor living at its finest. The home is surrounded by lush landscaping, including an orchard filled with citrus and fruit trees, along with multiple indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces. Spanning more than 3,000 square feet, the main house consists of three buildings connected by a loggia, or covered walkway. The expansive kitchen in the main house features two ovens, a side-by-side refrigerator, and a dining area. Guests can also enjoy alfresco dining on the veranda just off the main living room. The poolside entertainment area feels like a private resort, complete with a full outdoor kitchen, two dining areas, a large BBQ space, and a waterfall that cascades through three soaking pools into a tropical saline pool. A 38-foot waterslide adds to the fun. The game room includes a pool table, darts, a 75-inch TV, and easy access to a whirlpool tub just outside. It also features the queen sleeper sofa. With unobstructed west-facing views, you can see both Catalina and San Clemente Islands on clear days. The property truly feels like your own private resort. Welcome to Vista, a charming Southern California town in North San Diego County, known for having some of the best weather in the country. Downtown Vista is just three miles west and offers a wide variety of dining options, many of which also deliver. The area is increasingly recognized for its large number of microbreweries. Just two miles away, Brengle Terrace Park features the Moonlight Amphitheatre, which hosts a series of Broadway-style musicals each summer, along with tennis and pickleball courts. In less than 30 minutes, you can reach the beaches of Oceanside, Carlsbad, or Encinitas. Heading inland, the newly opened Elephant Valley at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park is just 22 miles away. The house is beautifully decorated with everything you could need, even a juicer to enjoy all the citrus fruit from the large orchard. The beds were really comfy. The pool is amazing with a long water slide and gorgeous views. Poolside is a great place to relax or set up to work and enjoy the sunshine and breeze. Taking an evening stroll past the fruit trees around to the top along the pooand down by the massive fountain adorning the circular drive provides stunning sunset views. It’s clear the owners take wonderful care of this spectacular place. Booking and check-in was easy and clear. Just an all-around great experience. The house was spectacular! Perfect for vacationing with another family. We all had our own space and congregated in the communal spaces. The two kitchens were amazing- we ate some meals by the pool and some on the veranda. It was like being in Mexico!! Fruit trees were so cool- the apples were sweet, ruby red grapefruits and fresh squeezed OJ for breakfast. Two suggestions for making this the best place ever— the pool could be warmer (it’s solar heated). The weather was low 70s, so wish the pool was a bit warmer. But we still had a blast going down the slide! A broom! We traveled with littles who sometimes miss their mouth when trying to eat. We searched everywhere but could not find a broom or vacuum- so spent a lot of time on our hands and knees picking up scraps. We enjoyed every moment. Swimming, sliding, picking fruit and juicing, the pool table, gazing out at the gorgeous views. We loved it!! Something to note for people traveling with children. All of the bedrooms are accessed outside. There is a main living area with kitchen, dining room and living room. Covered walkways lead to the bedroom/bathroom combos, but they are not accessible from the main house. This was fine for us because our children enjoyed the set up but it would not have worked when they were younger. There is one bedroom that has a guest bed attached so parents could stay with smaller children in there. The pool area is paradise, i could stay there for days never wanting a thing. It was fabulous for the first two days but then the waterfall, slide and all together the pool pump stopped working. I tried contacting management and it was handled very poorly and it did not get fixed. We were mostly upset that no one even came to look at the pool over the 24 hours I had been reaching out. We specifically rented this property for the soul reason of the pool but we were disappointed the third and fourth day it wasn’t working. They offered $20 at first to reimburse us then agreed on $100\. With spending $3400 we just didn’t feel that was a justifiable reimbursement since people most likely would rent this property for its pool and amenities. Another part that was not mentioned is the chickens/ roosters that apparently are on the land tight by the house. They woke us up every morning at 4:30 which was not pleasant. List of issues: Vacasa customer service was contacted immediately when we arrived & the following morning. No local staff reached out to us until the 4th day of our 6 day vacation. \*\*\*Refrigerator & freezer in kitchen doesn’t work. Vacasa local Mgr admitted they knew about the fridge and decided to wait until we left to replace it. Never letting us know or giving us the option. Complete irresponsible!!! \*\*A/C in master bedroom leaked water & didn’t cool. 80+ degrees in our room entire stay. \*\*\*chicken farm directly below master bedroom, roosters will wake you up at 4-5am every morning. \* landscape crew shows up at 6am on Tuesday, spraying windows w/ water and mowing & edging right out side each bedroom. \* layout not suitable fir smaller children (under 12 yrs of age). Plan on them sleeping with you. 3rd bedroom inns in basement garage and kids will have to exit into driveway or thru garage and up a dark flight of basement stairs if they need to get to parents. \*Clogged drain & no running hot water (left knob downer work) in south bedroom bathroom. Shower head is also very corroded & gross \*\*\*other than the sheets, the house was filthy dusty. Con webs everywhere. Looks like nobody has dusted. Only changed sheets s a and left. \* faucet handle on kitchen sink is falling off \* door handle to south living Room entrance fell off when we first entered. Many others very loose. \*A/C in north bedroom doesn’t get cold. Can come on but won’t cool room like other A/C’s. \* 4th jet on hot tub doesn’t work. Hot tub water was below jet level & filthy when we arrived. I had to clean hair, debris & layers of dirt then as water. We still wouldn’t use it until pool guy came to test chlorine & clean more thoroughly. \* We also had to clean all the debris and left toys out of pool. It was finally cleaned on Wednesday but was still filthy upon our arrival. \* pool umbrella in the shallow area is noon functional and doesn’t go up and down. Looks like the cord broke and someone tied it back together somehow. Also the end of the umbrella are worn thru and busted out. \* on a lesser note…some lights are out on walkway up to the pool & many bushes need to be trimmed back so palm trees aren’t slapping you in face on n main walkways and so you can walk up the stairs to the slide. ##### Ty K.
