Not bad for the price

Posted 30-Aug-2017
Pros: Mini-breakfast was good. Fridge. Microwave. TV. Extra desk for work. Clean sheets and towels. Coffee machine. Staff was extremely friendly :)
Cons: There were coachroaches outside the room. Level noise: Put a sign for people to keep it down after 11 p.m. Put smaller chairs at the breakfast area.
Location: Location is great! Love that Chick's Beach! Lots of shops and restaurants around. Streets are wide, clean, and beautiful to just walk around.
Staff is fantastic. Room was comfy, but it does not have a kitchenette as it shows on the pictures! It does have a small(dorm-size) fridge and a microwave. Towels and bedsheets were surprisingly clean! Bed is not a full queen size, but good enough. Breakfast was simple, but plenty for everyone. Staff refresh and keep it fully stocked at all times. No fresh fruits, but pastries were good. People who stay there are out of hotel control, but be aware: Low class people! They make lots of noise outside your door until 1 a.m. - Hotel management did come out to tell them to keep it down. They put chairs outside on the corridors and talk so loud it feel they are in your ears. But that is the kind of people we get in cheaper accommodations anywhere. Overall, I would probably stay there again, but probably better when it is not beach/high-season time. It would be quieter, I am assuming. The staff is very friendly and awesome. All my stars go to them!

Just what you need. Tidy and clean, but affordable

Very close to the base where we came to visit our son and centrally located to the beach, malls, aquarium and other attractions.

Pick a different location

The room was dirty, the facilities were old, and the staff was rude. Overall, not a good experience.

Was uneasy at the start. Checked out 30 minutes later. Not the Howar Johnson I was expecting.

Me and my family stayed at this hotel during the night after driving for 10 hours. It was inexpensive, came with free breakfast (waffles, eggs, sausage, tea etc.) and the bed was comfy. The room wasn't in it's cleanest state, however I didn't expect this cheaply priced hotel to have 4-5 star material. When in town I would stay here again. If you are looking for somewhere to sleep then yes stay here. If you're looking to take a dip in the pool, stay elsewhere.

Nice Hotel for Price

Posted 11-Aug-2017
I paid for a room with a kitchen and two double beds in it. I ended up getting a corner room which was incredible because of the space available. The kitchen seemed to be very outdated but it all worked just as it should. Some of the outlets in the room didn't work and the tv didn't seem to work, but I had my laptop which gave me quick and easy access to entertainment and more charming outlets. The wifi worked tremendously! The staff was very sweet and kind. Little Creek base is right in front of the hotel so if you are military it is nice. It is also located near military housing so the neighboorhood surrounding it didn't seem to be too bad. The room was $54 a night and I stayed five nights with my husband when he was not working. It's about 20 minutes from Norfolk Naval Base. I walked to the laundry mat about a mile up the road which is also in the heart of a store center that has an Aldi, Doller Tree, Dollar General, Subway, Little Ceasers, Dublin Doughnuts, and more. I thought we did really good for the price and time we spent here.
