Very nice stay. The room was nor very big but it was clean and comfortable. I requested a quiet room because I was on work trip and thei allowed me to check the two available rooms to chose the most quiet one. Very well located in a secure area very close to the castle area with lots of nice restaurants. If I ever return to Ponferrada I will stay here for sure.

The hotel was comfortable. The best feature was the staff. Very pleasant and helpful. Good location. Just a short walk from the center of town and with a few establishments where to drink a great “café con leche” or pick up a snack. The city is very safe so we felt comfortable parking on the street, although the hotel has parking for a fee. Overall, it was a good choice.

Respite on the Camino
Great place to stay if you are walking the Camino and need a restful night. A few blocks away from the town center, but you can easily walk there. The breakfast is also a nice start to a long day on the trail

Good Place to Stay in Ponferrada, Spain
Had a great stay at the hotel. It is only 10-15 minutes from the center of the historic part of Ponferrada by foot. The room was very spacious, and the Wifi was not bad. The hotel has a small parking garage across the street from it for about $12.50/night. Breakfast selections were good.

Great hotel within 10 mins walking of the Old town
From the off-go, this hotel was exactly what we needed, Fernando in reception was great and extremely helpful. We stayed only one night but everything worked according to plan with car parking and breakfast.

Good location. Wslking the Camino.
It was a little difficult to find if you are walking from the station. The signs were not clear. But after we found the hotel everything was good. Good location, close to a nice park and very easy the next morning to be on our way.

A pleasant stay.
Located on a dual carriageway at the junction with a roundabout so if arriving by car either pull into hotel parking entrance opposite or pull off on to wide pavement in front of hotel.Spacious entrance and friendly reception staff. Good sized room and standard of cleanliness for this and en suite excellent.Very comfortable large bed. Buffet breakfast also good.

Poor customer service, average room
This is a perfectly acceptable hotel, but no more. The room was quite small for the price for the town but clean and modern. We didn't get breakfast so can't comment. The staff really had very little customer service ability or inclination. It certainly didn't have the "make eye contact and acknowledge the customer within 10 seconds" rule. You could be ignored for minutes. Also, we were in need of some help figuring out transportation issues and we didn't have good spanish. We were told at reception to go on foot and ask our question at the train/bus station and we had to push to get the hotel to make some calls for us. We ended up calling a number of people ourselves with broken spanish. We thought we found the solution and got the reception to call and clarify that we had understood. They did this at least.

Nice place to stay
It was a pleasant experience. The bathroom door didn't have a latch so that was a bit interesting. You could hear the other person in the bathroom otherwise it was great.

I have no real complaints about this hotel, service was attentive, room was clean and the overall size of the room was reasonable. There were issues with the free wifi which would be my only complaint as the internet dropped out on a regular basis.

Easy place to stay
This was a one night stay during our travels on the Camino de Santiago. The location was good for easy car access and the garage was safe and convenient. This was exactly what we expected for a modern Marriott - good service, clean, good food in on site restaurant.

Well positioned accommodation, good breakfast.
AC Hotel was comfortable and well run, with breakfast available at a reasonable price. We enjoyed our stay, and there's a self service Laundromat not far away in town - a boon for travellers. Nearby on street parking is easy to find and safe. The local sights were very good, great castle and Las Medulas is a must but allow at least half a day to do this. Most of the good restaurants are in the castle vicinity.

Another Very Good AC Hotel
Very clean and well-maintained hotel with very helpful staff. Bedroom a bit small. The location is not very cental but not that far from historic city (15 mins walk max). Nice park just over the road. Another very good AC hotel (I'm a big fan of the chain) but not their best.

Great place to stay!
I really enjoyed a night at the Marriott. The bed was big and very comfortable, which is hard to come by in Europe. The bathroom was big with a nice tub and they even give you robes. Internet was a little weak but I found this common all over Europe. There is a grocery store across the street and the square is about a 10 minute walk.

Great hotel!
I was there for Easter weekend. Lots of religious activity. However, the Spanish bars were great. The Castillo de Los Templarios was the main reason for me to be there. It was less than mile away. The hotel room and bed was great. Wifi was excellent in the lobby and room. Breakfast was fantastic. Parking directly across the street with easy access. Grocery store across the street also. No complaints. Would go back.

We stayed for 1 night on our travels and were most impressed. The hotel was very good value and had been refurbished to a high standard. The receptionist was very helpful and polite. It was only a short walk to Ponferrada old town.
