warm welcome from the minute we stepped out of our car. room wasn't ready but we went to the pool bar and had lunch and a drink, not bad prices about 9 euros for a sandwich with fries. Plenty of space around the pool and the man made beach part looked great for kids. Didn't eat at the restuarants in the evening as plenty to choose from in and around the arena. Enjoyed a singer with an acoustic guitar in the bar the first evening. Room was great, best bed I have ever slept in and I liked the bathroom arrangement with the separate toilet and basin. Plenty of storage space, can't fault it, will return. Excellent breakfast, very attentive staff, no wait at all for tea or coffee, lots to choose from.
"Great Value, great pool and bar area, very helpful"
We stayed at the Algardia for 2 weeks me and my son and my parents in another room. The Apartments were great value, clean and tidy. The rooms were cleaned once weekly. The pool and bar/coffe shop was very good and good value.
We've stayed at hotel before we had a child but thought it would be nice to go back. Every member of staff we encountered were amazing, buffets good and drinks package fantastic value and great idea - just a shame buffet restaurant didn't open until 7pm. The main problem we had with this visit was that the hotel was holding a 3 day seminar and team building event. This wouldn't have been a problem until going down for dinner one night and finding the buffet restaurant closed and not being informed prior to this. The posher a la carte restaurant was still open but this wasn't idea for a 20 month old toddler. We also timed the visit badly as hotel was preparing for Masters golf competition so lots of noise and work going on to accommodate this - this was just one of those things and fully understandable. Not much to do within walking distance but you can walk to Vilamoura in 30mins or get free shuttle.
This was a great hotel apartment with excellent facilities, particularly those travelling with young children. The apartment had a modern kitchen, huge dining/living area, bedroom for the kids with their own toilet/shower and a master on-suite bedroom. Plus a decent balcony overlooking the pool.
The staff were on the whole friendly and spoke good English.
The facilities were very good, with plenty of sunbeds around the pool and an indoor heated pool for young children
This apartment was exactly as advertised and I would definitely return, The receptionist rang the day before we were expected to confirm the time of our arrival and told us they would stay open late to wait for us. What she didnt explain was that 'reception' is actually a property rental office just 2 blocks away. Luckily our taxi driver knew this and took us straight there but I dont know how we would have found out otherwise. But that was the only complaint that we had, The receptionist was very helpful. The apartment was spotlessly clean, even for me who is o,c,d, Yes its rather dated and could do with a lick of paint but it was very clean had absolutely eveything we needed and the view really was fantastic.
A relaxing hotel. Pool area very good with plenty of beds around the pool and in the garden area. Breakfast excellent selection. Very peaceful for sleeping as the hotel is away from the main road. To walk casually to the Marina takes no more than 10 minutes. Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.
fabulous hotel and a great location, rooms have superb views over the sea and the staff were very helpful and courteous at all times I would certainly use this hotel again , breakfast was excellent and had everything you could imagine including champagne !!!! hope to be back staying here very soon
From the moment we landed, the Portugese people provided us with 5 star service. The hotel met our expectations, but based on comments previously read, the Breakfast far exceeded our expectations. Bountiful bread, bacon and bubbles, layered with friendly conscientious staff and topped with sparkling cleanliness, what more could you ask for?
The pool side bar and facilities again spotless (never seen such swanky poolside loos!) and very relaxing. A little background music but not enough to interrupt your solitude. Lots of other areas away from the poolside for those wanting total peace and quiet.
Our seaview room did not disappoint, and it was just so relaxing. There were lots of groups of men on golfing trips but we never heard a peep from anyone.
A short flat walk around the corner to the marina, where you can feast on high end restaurant quality fillet steaks and seafood dishes. We stayed 3 nights and ate in 3 random venues and were astounded by the dishes served, the cleanliness and the amazing value. The wine was also crisp, light and totally fitted the occasion.
Finish the night off with a visit to one of the bars, with great live music and lots of laughter.
Would I go back..........most definately
A modern resort created in the 1970s, Vilamoura is famous for its marina and several championship golf courses. What it lacks in local character it makes up for in facilities as one of Europe’s largest leisure complexes, including most water sports. By night the marina is the lively hub with bars and eateries for all budgets, plus a casino and nightclubs. The adjacent beach of Praia da Falésia is recommended.
