Just returned from a very relaxing break after a very difficult couple of months. The weather was very comfortable, not as hot as June and definitely not wet like last October.
The only negative was the noise from the child running around the apartment above us. Especially first thing in the morning and not once did I hear an adult say stop!
polite friendly staff. requested new batteries for room safe, on first day and still didnt have them by the time we checked out. Also requested new plug for bath,as soon as we ran water for bath it ran out again, so couldnt enjoy relaxing soak. This also wasnt replaced for duration of stay, which for a 5 star hotel was poor service.
We came for a relaxing break and that is what we had. We had a great room overlooking the beach and also made good use of the indoor pool and spa facilities. The staff were very helpful and courteous. There was a good atmosphere throughout the hotel with teams from all over Europe and further afield staying there for the World Fishing Championship.
We visited the 2nd weekend in November for 4 nights. I think it was a fairly quiet time for the hotel but the staff were very helpful at all times and the room was perfect, with a balcony looking over the driving range. The facilities were very good although slightly disappointing that the outdoor pools were closed even though the weather was over 20c every day whilst we were staying there. The only downside would be the out of town location but this did mean it was situated in a quieter area, and we new of the location when we booked. It was around a 20 minute walk to the marina.
That said, an excellent hotel and would definitely recommend it.
This was a first couples holiday for my husband and I after 25 years of family holidays. We chose the hotel for its star rating and reviews. Neither of us play golf, so we didn't use the golfing facilities at all. The outdoor pool was lovely, and never any rush for sunbeds (although we were just at the end of the season 25 Sept - 2 Oct). The indoor pool was about 12 metres and suitable for a few lengths, with a Jacuzzi at one end. We booked the bed and breakfast option. The food was amazing - fresh produce and a huge amount of choice. You would never have to have the same thing twice! We did lots of walking - there are 3 bars/restaurants nearby, about half an hour walk. We ate in Oscars and the Tapas Bar/Restaurant - both were excellent. We hired bikes for 3 days from a company recommended in the hotel - Bike-a-Wish - they delivered & collected to & from the hotel. It was easy to arrange and the company were very helpful. The two nearest resorts are Quarteira (excellent blue flag beach) and Vilamoura (beautiful marina, very lively). We're keen walkers and the distance is do-able (approx. 6km to the nearest), but it's easy to take a taxi. We took the bus to Faro one day for a day of shopping. Actually not that many shops, mainly places to eat. I'd definitely recommend this hotel. The only reason for not giving 5* rating on the room comfort was that my bed was like a brick!!
good room clean and functional, breakfast first class plenty of choice and used dishes removed quickly, good bar in hotel and a couple of TV,s showing sports programmes, plenty of sun loungers around a good sized pool.
closed to the marina and all the bars and restaurants only downsize was no gym facility.
A modern resort created in the 1970s, Vilamoura is famous for its marina and several championship golf courses. What it lacks in local character it makes up for in facilities as one of Europe’s largest leisure complexes, including most water sports. By night the marina is the lively hub with bars and eateries for all budgets, plus a casino and nightclubs. The adjacent beach of Praia da Falésia is recommended.
