We stayed at the Grand Tonic for 3 nights. It was a great experience. We spent most of our time outside the hotel, but we had absolutely no complaints. The room was very clean, the bathroom spacious, and very little noise. Being right on the port is the best!
Stayed here before, in the summer a few years ago. It was excellent so decided to return. Room was good but AirCon was turned off and staff refused to turn it back on. It was over 20degC so much needed. After an argument we were located to a room at back of hotel away from noise of road so could open windows. If AirCon advertised, it should be switched on!

We, me and my wife, stayed at this hotel for two nights last week. We upgraded our room to get a good view. It was 100 Euro but the view was worth it! The room was good, comfortable as one expects from a luxury hotel. However there are a few shortcomings. The TV set was not great and it was not very responsive. We paid for a few movies to watch but each movie got stuck during playing and the transmission was not smooth. Also there was no toothbrush/toothpaste set and neither there was any shaving set. Other than these small things, we had enjoyed our stay.
This hotel is about a 10 min walk from the harbour and has some amazing views from the restaurant and pool / outside seating area. The staff were really lovely and helpful. I shared a room with my daughter who had the sofa bed and although it was a bit springy we put a couple of blankets on it and it was fine. The shower cubicle was a bit tired and had marks on the floor but I think they were due to age rather than cleanliness. We ate in the hotel once and really enjoyed our meal although it was probably a bit more expensive that in the town but that's what I would expect. Restaurant staff were attentive and helpful - we didn't have a burger but they looked very good. It is a good location and I would stay here again.
We arrived early for our reservation and were told that our room was not yet ready, but the desk clerk offered to keep our bags for us while we enjoyed lunch at a nearby cafe. When we did check into our room, we were delighted; it was very pretty, the bathroom was completely renovated but the room itself, while newly decorated, seemed at the same time old-fashioned in a charming way. Perfect! The small balcony gave us a view of the Sunday market in the street below. The bed was new and comfortable; wifi worked seamlessly. The next morning we walked with our bags to the gare Saint Charles; it was a little long, but definitely do-able. We look forward to staying at the New Hotel Vieux Port the next time we spend the night in Marseille.
Nice view, balcony, big room, easy walking to many historical sites and restaurants. Bus, tram or subway for other places. Excellent linens and towels, tea kettle with tea or coffee. Very comfortable! Staff is friendly and helpful!

Friendly staff, convenient location right across from the metro, good breakfast but a bit expensive for 9 euros, rooms are out dated but comfortable enough for my one night stay, overall I would recommend this hotel.
