Furniture/beds in the actual room are pretty outdated, but the inside of the hotel is absolutely beautiful. We were fairly needy as tourists and every staff encounter was very welcoming, informative, and helpful. Perfect location walking distance to most everything you’d want to do in central Vienna.

Area was very central and accessible to most areas of interest by foot. Metro within short walking distance was very convenient getting to and from airport. The property was comfortable but outdated. No modern chargers and carpet was a bit musty.

This hotel is amazing! The room (apartment) I stayed in was so luxurious and comfortable that I will stay here again in October when I return to Vienna. I also want to add that the folks at reception were fantastic and helped me find restaurants for two group dinners. I will definitely return!

Location location!
My husband and I enjoyed our comfortable room for a week in December. We had a corner room with two large windows. It had a small refrigerator and a kettle, perfect for our needs. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. The elevator was a big plus. We opted for their breakfast and were not disappointed. The reception area is lovely, and has complimentary coffee and water. The staff is friendly, professional and very helpful. We especially enjoyed our breakfast server, Joy. The location was perfect to walk the city center, the Christmas markets, catch the Big Red Bus tour, and go to concerts. We had dinner at the Grnd restaurant across the street from the hotel, and others nearby. Again, we were not disappointed. We would definitely stay there again.

Spacious rooms and lovely staff members. However, the pillows were very flat and uncomfortable--we were left with neck and shoulder pains from our stay, which lasted for a few days after leaving the hotel. We tried asking for extra pillows, but reception told us they did not have any extra pillows.

We are from Southern California and booked this hotel for 3 nights in mid December 2023. This was not what I expected! Pros: Great location. Close to public transportation and and lots of famous attractions. Staff are nice and friendly. They have nice decorations and great wall arts. We booked a suite and it was a decent size. Exactly like what we saw in the photos. They have a washer and a dryer on site that you can use for €4.50 per load. They have free coffee and water available in the lobby. You can store your luggage after you check out. Cons: This hotel is super old!!! Our room floor would shake every time we were walking!! Their elevator is tiny, we couldn't even fit our 2 luggages and the two of us in the elevator! There is no restaurant or room service. Water would leak from the shower and make everywhere wet. I told them about the issue, they tried to fix it. It got better, but it was still leaking. They advertise having "free mini bar", but there is no such a thing! Their definition of "free mini bar" is 2 free bottles of sparkling water and 2 free bottles of beer everyday. That's it! Completely different than the U.S. In conclusion, for this price, you can find better places. If you do end up booking at this hotel, lowere your expectation.

We stayed for 3 nights in December before the Christmas weekend. The location is super central. You can walk to all major attractions nearby. Even though we did not utilize the metro, the station is just outside the building. A grocery store is located across the street. My husband appreciated the free bottled water available 24 hours at the lobby.

This was our second stay at the living hotel an der Oper. It is a wonderful hotel in the perfect location in the inner city of Vienna. Very quiet very comfortable very spacious. When we come back to Vienna, we will stay here again.

Excellent property near the Staatsoper
Excellent property in a great location two blocks from the Staatsoper. Very helpful staff, and the mini-apartment was spacious with a nice sitting area. Nice view of the Karlskirche from the dormer windows as well. Lots of electric outlets, which is a plus for a European hotel. The only negatives: the bathroom was a little worn with a broken fixture in the shower. The elevator was quite small (3 persons max) and slow, which created problems at busy times (we were on the 6th floor so using the stairs wasn’t very appealing)

We loved staying at the Living Hotel an der Oper. The location is excellent - walking distance to St Stephen’s Cathedral/Old Town and right on an underground stop. Our apartment was well appointed and had lots of space. The kitchen had everything we needed and we particularly loved the breakfast dining nook. The staff were friendly and we also liked the free coffee and water available 24/7 in the lobby. A supermarket (Spar) is directly across the road - very convenient! We highly recommend this property if you’re visiting Vienna and we hope to stay there again some time in the future. Vielen Dank!

Another great stay at this wonderful hotel. The rooms are huge and so comfortable. Great staff, and lots of included treats: daily free beer and mineral water in the minibar, free cappuccino/espresso and mineral water in the lobby, and a washer/dryer in the basement. Can't beat the location. Fairly priced. My only suggestion: please improve internet speed.

The hotel was very convenient to transportation, Christmas markets and Innerstradt. It was very clean and the reception and housekeeping staff were all very nice and helpful. There was coffee and water downstairs and a kettle with tea and hot chocolate in the room. It was very clean and beds were comfortable. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is gorgeous inside with beautiful draperies and paintings. There are free water and coffee inside. The rooms are very clean. I didn’t try breakfast at the hotel because there are cafes nearby. It is located right next to the Vienna State Opera. The location is very convenient to explore the historic part of Vienna.

Great location
The location of this hotel is great. It's right next to the underground, and the Opera House is one block away. There are several decent restaurants and a few grocery stores within a couple blocks. We have been here on two separate occasions. Friends stayed in the same hotel, and every room was a little different. On our first stay, both our room and our friend's room had quite a bit of space and a decent kitchen. Even though we booked the same type of room for our second stay, the bathroom and kitchen were extremely cramped.

Excellent stay in Vienna’s District 1!
Living Hotel in Vienna is a great location that is walking distance from many great restaurants and site-seeing spots. We also hopped on the Metro to easily get to several locations too.

I chose this hotel for my 15-day stay in Vienna and could not have been more pleased! The location one block from the Staatsoper is ideal for sightseeing, museums, concerts, and opera, and it is easy to get to from the airport via public transportation. The executive apartment was modern, spotless, fully equipped with what a traveler would want for a longer stay (including free, reliable WiFi), and blissfully quiet. The staff were uniformly pleasant and helpful. I did not try the breakfast, but the free coffee in the lobby was much appreciated!

Liked almost everything about the room. The room was large, had high ceilings, and the mix of modern and old/antique furniture was pretty nice. The only thing that was a little surprising was the smell in hallway inside my unit, which was not present anywhere else in the room. I also appreciated getting a good quality spring water for free, the same brand for which I paid over 20 euros in a famous restaurant while staying at this hotel.

GREAT Location, free beer!
Fabulous location near opera house and easy access to subway and street cars. Cab fare is expensive (E55) Free expresso or cappuccino in lobby, free bottle left in your chilled water, and FREE 2 bottles of beer daily left in your room fridge. Yes free, yes daily. Wifi good, staff friendly and helpful. Small but functional elevator. Lots of restaurants nearby. GREAT LOCATION, reasonable price for Vienna.

The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The location is perfect, close to so many historical places , museums, opera house and to the well known commercial pedestrian street in Vienna! This hotel is also a “little museum “ itself with so many pieces of art exposed especially in the lobby!
