Nice hotel close to the waterfront
Smooth check-in and we were offered an upgrade for 25$/night, which we took. The room we got was on the 7th floor, like a small apartment with all the amenities you might need for a longer stay or if you'd prefer to prepare your own food. Nice, spacious bathroom with shower and tub separate and really comfy robes. The living room was the perfect size. The bed was queen size and comfy as well. Only thing I would have asked for was to have the drawer with the TV in front of the bed, now it was a bit awkwardly placed to the side. The balcony had access both from the bedroom and the living room, overlooking the village.
We had brought water with us when we went to bed. the day after when we came back in to our room, the cleaning staff had placed 2 small goblets with water and a mint leaf on either side of the bed and 2 pieces of chocolate on the bed, nice little touch.
when asking about "the castle" (the magazines in the room talk about seeing a real castle, which is called Hatley Castle, used in many movies, incl X-Men), you'll be directed to the Craigdarroch Castle by the hotel staff. THIS IS NOT THE SAME ONE.. not worth your time.. 10 min cab ride from the hotel. The one we wanted to get to was 30 min away with cab. but neither the receptionist not the cab driver knew about this place.. we were to short on time to actually get to the real place. But maybe educate your staff if it's featured in the magazines you provide.
