Avoid this hotel.

Posted 17-Nov-2015
Pros: .
Cons: Everything - from the furniture and decor to state of the bathrooms and the carpeting in the corridor.
Spent one night here in November. We should have read the ratings more carefully. This was truly one of our worst hotel experiences I've ever had: the hotel looks like it was last modernised in the early 1960s. Everything about the place felt old, gloomy and slightly decrepit. The rooms smelt musty, with moth-eaten blankets in the cupboard and a nylon bedcover and ancient heating system. The bath had no plug. When I asked at the desk if they could find me one, it turned out that none of the empty rooms had one. There is nothing much to recommend this place apart from its location and the staff at the front desk were friendly.

It was ok, not recommended.

Stayed in the deluxe room that didn't have a shower though they had a jaccuzzi. They should look a little closer into cleaning the Jets in the tub, as when they were turned on, lots of hair came spewing out of them. It was quite disgusting, though accidents do happen. My friend contacted expedia and they were very helpful as to refund our money back. There were some interesting people living in this hotel too. Oh well I won't stay at this particular Hotel again. Thankful for the refund-thanks expedia :)

Good hotel close to Chinatown

Posted 02-Nov-2015
Pros: Quiet neighbourhood. Clean. Within my budget. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Quiet enough to spend time journaling and reading.
Cons: The odor in the room was musty - perhaps mold? Should be corrected.
Location: Very close to city center. Short walk to Chinatown. Short walk to seaside. Good eateries close by. White Spot across the road.
Hotel was clean but had a peculiar odor - perhaps musty. More noticeable on the second day. Hotel within walking distance of downtown. Buses close by for convenience. Sun came out every day after a morning of rain. Many great little eating places within walking distance. With street map in hand, could follow the sea walk, the Chinatown walk. Relatively close to galleries, museum. Wonderful experience.

price and location

Posted 15-Oct-2015
Pros: Price, location.
Cons: The floor could be cleaner.
Location: Close to Chinatown.
This hotel is located at the north end of the down town and is within walking distance of the harbour and thus fairly convenient. It was one of the cheapest hotels in the down town and was nothing special, or horrible. Good for the thrifty, not for those seeking glamour.

Inexpensive, close to downtown

Posted 16-Sep-2015
Pros: It's a reasonable price and close to downtown and most of the tourist attractions.
Cons: They need to upgrade some of their precautions against infestations. The doors to the rooms have enough floor clearance to allow mice free access.
The motel provides reasonable comfort and security for the price. It's within walking distance of downtown Victoria and most of the tourist attractions. On the downside, I did receive an unwanted visit in my room from a mouse.

Great location, Could do with a make over

Posted 16-Sep-2015
Pros: Location, on sight parking and cost.
Cons: Overdue for an update and renovate
Location: Really close to Downtown, Chinatown, couldn't be better
We thought the hotel was great value for money, particularly as it was a really short walk to Downtown and had free parking. Aside from that it was clear from the room price that this wasn't a 4 star hotel. It is rather shabby, but I thought it was clean enough and I'm fairly fussy. Room was spacious and despite being on the ground floor by car parking lot, the room was quiet. I have no complaints, but I do feel renovation is long overdue. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to someone who was looking for budget accommodation in a good location.

Location: It is within walking distance to everything.
The hotel was filthy. Splatter on walls, counters were barely wiped down......hair in bed. Gross.

The location was ideal for restaurants & walking.

Posted 10-Sep-2015
Pros: Clean, comfortable bed and courteous helpful staff.
The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet in the area. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see and found appropriate restaurants for every meal. We also enjoyed a scenic drive along the ocean & visited friends on Cordova Bay Rd.

Good location but grubby bathrooms.

Posted 05-Sep-2015
Pros: Good location, big rooms.
Cons: Bathroom needs cleaning and repair.
Very close to downtown. Rooms are large, nothing fancy, but the main room is clean and the small balcony is nice. The cleaning staff was using this very strong air freshener but they stopped when I asked. The bathroom needs work, it's grubby and it looks like the grouting in the shower is rotting.
