A stellar waterfront stay

We could not have been more pleased with the Inn at Laurel Point, with starring roles going to the lovely setting and the outstanding staff. From check-in, and throughout our stay, every employee we encountered offered useful information and the kind of welcome and genuine charm that can make a good visit into a great one. Add to that a property with a lovely waterfront location, bordered by a sweet Japanese Garden and a sense of oasis, yet within a few minutes walk from the ferry on which we arrived, and an easy walk into downtown Victoria. Our room in the older Laurel Wing offered a fine view of the water and was comfortable and well-maintained. But if you have the funds, you might splurge on a room in the newer Erickson Wing; I found the sleek architecture intriguing enough to ask the staff for a peek at some of the rooms, which they graciously did, and I liked the zen aesthetic that still manages to exude comfort. In fact, we liked our one-night stay so much, we inquired about stopping back on our last night in Canada -- but they did not have any room at a price I could afford. Still, we hope we'll have a chance to return in the future. It was ideal.
