Good Staff, but rest of hotel is meh
Stayed here for one night with my significant other and our french bulldog. I chose this hotel specifically because of its location, and shortly after booking, a favourite travel blogger of mine recommended it so I was really looking forward to our stay.
Our room was average - first floor in the Laurel Wing (which is the older part of the building, I believe). This is one of their 'pet friendly' rooms. We had a VERY small deck that looked at the water, so I was pleased that we had a view however, I expected that because their pet friendly rooms were on the first floor, we would be able to walk directly out of the room for our dog to do his business. This was not the case as our deck had a hip-high concrete wall around it, so we still had to walk back out of the hotel, through the lobby. So, I ask, what really is the point of relegating guests with pets to the first floor when it really doesn't make it much more convenient? Room location was also very loud, heard people coming and going all through the night (probably since we were across from the pool, and right down the hall from the restaurant and elevators).
A note on amenities - pool looked nice (though didn't use), no hottub though. Room service menu was pretty slim, particularly in the late night snacks department which isn't great when the hotel is a decent walk from convenience/grocery stores.
