Lovely building. refreshing change from standard high gloss. Unfortuntely the loft room we stayed in had a very tired ambiance. only fresh thing about it was the bed linens...thanks.

Nice hotel, poor housekeeping staff

Posted 31-Aug-2015
The location is almost perfect, the receptionists were super nice, friendly, and helpful, the complimentary breakfast was OK, the room was good except that the floor hadn't been vacuumed, and there were hairs on the towels.

Seedy Place Should Be Avoided

Posted 28-Aug-2015
Pros: location
Cons: everything
Location: Victoria's port and the surrounding area attractions. We went to Butchart Gardens on the 75 bus which we caught nearby the hotel.
The hotel was dirty - the common rooms, which were limited and small, had ground in dirt in the carpet and our room was filthy. One of the common areas was so poorly lit it was uncomfortable. This was a room that was used as a spillover from the main eating area. The breakfast was meager, and because of the dirt, we did not want to eat anyway. The staff at the desk were kind.

Wonderful stay convenient to Inner Harbor

Posted 27-Aug-2015
Pros: Everything! See above paragraph.
Cons: Only one thing that I can think of: the bedside lamps on either side of the king-size bed in the second room were a bit dim.
Location: Location was perfect for a 3-4 stay: walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf, Empress Hotel, Royal BC Museum, whale watching tours, buses to everywhere!
We spent four nights at the beginning of our Victoria trip and then a final night several days later after a 3-day visit to Pender Island. Everything was wonderful! The reception staff were friendly and very helpful, remembered us, and we enjoyed greeting them each day. They gave good recommendations for dinners out, but their friendly bar had some good happy-hour deals. We had two types of room. The first was a split level with beds upstairs, couch, TV, kitchen and bath downstairs. We recommend this to anyone wanting to cook in a bit, or store leftovers in the fridge and reheat in microwave (there is a stove, too). Our second room at the end of our trip was a regular room with king-size bed, bath with tub, small table and chairs. The hotel is right across the street from the Victoria Clipper, so convenient for roller-board suitcases. It was also in easy walking distance (12 min) to the main bus stop if you wanted to catch buses to Butchart Gardens or to Swartz Bay to catch ferries to nearby islands like Pender. It was also about a 10-minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf and maybe 15 min to The Empress Hotel and all the whale watching establishments. One of the best assets is the fabulous breakfast each morning (scrambled eggs, ham, Swiss and cheddar cheeses, chocolate croissants, raison/current scones, regular Danish, yummy fruit bowl, cereals, and yogurt, and of course, coffee and tea). Great place to enjoy Victoria!!!

Great location downtown. Close to restaurants.

Posted 26-Aug-2015
We could walk anywhere downtown from the hotel! The staff were super friendly & helpful. The only issue we faced was no screens on the windows and no air conditioning, so it was stuffy at night, but I hear that screens are due to be installed! So give this hotel a try!

Great once again!

Posted 26-Aug-2015
Pros: 1st stay had unique 2 level room, full kitchenette. Second a large nice room, balcony, no complaints.
Cons: Weird pillows on second stay, first was fine.
Location: Tons, right in the main harbor part of downtown, very close walk to museums, Parliment, Gov St., whale watching, Beacon Hill and Fisherman's wharf
Stayed here a second time now. Friendly, very well located on the harbor, well priced and had very nice rooms both times.

Great location - walked everywhere

Posted 11-Aug-2015
Pros: location, accessibility, good car park.
Cons: rooms are being upgraded now, old historical building but modernised - A/C not in all the rooms but we had it.
Location: right the harbour for harbour cruises, horse an buggy rides, BC Museum, Bc Parliament buildings, lost plane terminal not far, shopping, restaurants
Lovely old building with history and character right at the harbour in Victoria. Walked to everything. Very nice continental style breakfast included. Would stay there again for the great pricing during peak season.!

Affordable, cool hotel in great location

Posted 10-Aug-2015
Great location; The place was better than expected - comfortable rooms and bed and very affordable. Breakfast not worth it and not consistent with the place itself although I know it is owned by a Ramada- they ought to not offer it and charge $10-15 more for something decent more like B & B in keeping with the hotel itself. TV in loft room ought to be up in bedroom rather than living room and a pan for the oven would be appreciated. Otherwise room great.
