excellent location

Posted 28-Aug-2016
Pros: location
Cons: adding air-conditioning
Location: central to tourist attractions
good value for the excellent location. There is a fan inside the room that provided comfort without air-conditioning.

It was hot and there is no air conditioning

Posted 26-Aug-2016
Pros: It was close to the ferry and less expensive than others
Cons: They could add air conditioning
It was really hot and there was no air conditioning, and it was noisy on the street outside.

Very hot and noisy!!

Posted 23-Aug-2016
No air conditioner - room was extremely hot! HAD to have the window open but then it was VERY noisy. The outdoor patio restaurant attached to the hotel is just below and is very popular and open late = loud. The hot tub was broken and the elevator also broke down during our stay. The room and bathroom were very tiny, only double beds available and there is a weird step up into the bathroom. This hotel is old, dingy and in need of a serious renovation. We actually left a day early as we just couldn't stand it anymore. Staff were nice enough though and seemed used to the comments. Only stay here if you will be parting it up late and only need a single bed to crash on for a few hours (and don't mind the dirt either).

Overpriced horrible hotel to ever stay in

Posted 22-Aug-2016
Pros: The check-in staff member who was knowledgeable about the city of Victoria, but at the same time did not warn me about what I was getting myself into.
Cons: A/C would be very helpful, especially if you are going to charge a big penny for that dump. Offering free water bottles or continental breakfast
Location: Nothing really, but making sure you arrive to the bus terminal to get off the island. I never been so ripped off in my life by a well establish hotel.
I spent over $250 Canadian dollars for one night and it was a total waste in Victoria, BC. For starters, it was a very hot day in Victoria, BC, and I could not believe how the price of this hotel did not have air conditioning rooms but they did have a small portable fan and the electric outlets was far from the bed that I was better off fanning myself. I could not believe that this place did not even have ceiling fans. I will never stay in this hotel ever and I advise anyone with sense to stay far from this horrible hotel that is not even worth a quarter of what I paid for. One of the towels was stained and I hate to say what it was stained with. They only gave you one little small bottle of shampoo, and the structure of the room is not geared for the elderly so if you have vision impairment or you are not as flexible please stay away from this awful place that does not even serve a continental breakfast, or even offer free water bottles since you are stuck in there sauna style rooms on the hottest day of Victoria, BC.

Great location downtown Victoria.

Posted 21-Aug-2016
Front desk similar to Hawaiian hotel with outside lounge and walk through. Elevator so small capacity for two people and very slow (take the stairs). Immediate impression room very hot as no air conditioner, fan with broken stand had to prop against table that was of little comfort. Room very small, bathroom even smaller has to get dressed outside. No fan in bathroom very humid. Fuse blew when using hair dryer, no power by reset automatically ten minutes. Extremely dangerous step up/down into bathroom, warning sign of no value at night. Hazard plus. Our room right above outside lounge constant noise till midnite. Bar fridge in closet, no microwave, ironing board broken, sink plugged. General condition hotel is tear down. Booked two nights only stayed one.

Last stay there

Posted 15-Aug-2016
Pros: Not MUCH
Cons: SEE ABOVE
Location: Inner harbour area is full of things to do....... a clean, safe and beautiful city. Go try it, you will be gald you did.
Not very clean, crummy linen on bed and in bath. Faucet leaked BADLY in bathroom.......I stayed in the same room 2 years ago and same leak ! ! NO KIDDING ! Tiles on floor where not repaired from two year ago. No air conditioning, which can be a pain as Victoria does get hot/muggy. Really a poorly run place. In the restaurant......... don't even go there........... You can see into the kitchen from around the ONLY elevator......filthy, totally bad. The bar is o.k., decent drinks, right on the street with good view. The "drink specials" are more expensive than at regular price, so avoid them. I just think after visiting Vicyoria many times that I am better served to either pay the 350.00 (U.S.) and stay in a better place or stay a few miles away from the harbor.

the only hotel in Victoria without A/C

Posted 06-Aug-2016
Great location but unfortunately downstairs is home to a loud bar. This is the first hotel I have ever stayed at without air conditioning. I recommend you avoid this hotel and I generally consider myself easy to please.

Close to inner harbour, tourist attractions.

Posted 03-Aug-2016
Pros: Staff, convenient location to attractions, restaurant.
Cons: Cleanliness, updated surroundings, rooms.
Location: Harbour tours, restaurants, shopping, entertainment, easy access to locations outside the city center.
The staff were very, very, helpful when it came to providing answers about attractions or our needs at the hotel. Room cleanliness was not up to standard. Cobwebs noticed in corners, collection of dust behind night stands indicating deep cleaning had to been done for a long time. Dirty cleaning rag left behind by cleaning staff. No peephole provided in entry door. Wallpaper was peeling away in a couple of places. The room also needs to be upgraded as its looking dated with furniture that's old. No refrigerator in room although there is space for one in a cabinet.
