Cold snap in Victoria

Posted 09-Dec-2016
Pros: The diner and lounge staff. The location. The room layout and cleanliness.
Cons: Cleaning snow and ice off all of the property and the sidewalks bordering. Equip the rooms with space heaters during cold snaps like fans in the heat
Location: If you are visiting Victoria, The Days Inn Victoria On The Harbour is the prime location. Close to everything.
December cold snap and snow in Victoria, with wind, below zero, and icy frozen footprint sidewalks, we were looking forward to a nice meal and a warm room to spend the evening. This is a Days Inn so I knew what the rooms were like and I had stayed before. I stayed because of the price I could get a harbour front room in downtown Victoria. We ate at Days Inn Victoria On The Harbour, the Belleville’s Diner and the meal was great and the accommodated my100+ pound Service Dog. The staff was great and we enjoyed our time there. After the meal, we checked in, grabbed our bags and went to our cold room. We turned up the heat, turned the supposedly heat lamp in the bathroom. No part of the night or morning was comfortable, it did get up to 17 around 9:30am. Told the desk and they regretted the cold snap and thankful they didn't come often to Victoria. Hmmmmm......

QUICK VICTORIA BREAK.

Posted 04-Dec-2016
Pros: LOCATED BY THE PARLIAMENT BUILDIN GS. EASY WALK OUT FOR OUR DOG TOMMY AND NICE VIEWS OF THE HARBOUR
Cons: ROOM WAS A LITTLE TIGHT...BATHROOM ESPECIALLY HOWEVER VERY CLEAN AND RENOED
Location: WALKING, MUSEUM, EMPRESS , SEA WALK
WE WERE FORTUANTE TO HAVE GOOD WEATHER AND WERE ABLE TO WALK OUT BOTH EVENINGS TO MILESTONES AND THEN STICKY WICKET. WHICH WERE BOTH GOOD MEALS. ALSO TO JOHN'S PLACE FOR EGGS BENEDICT ONE MORNING ALWAYS FABULOUS. MANAGED TO GET IN SOM E SHOPPING FOR MYSELF AND A TINY BIT OF XMAS SHOPPING. WE HONEYMOONED IN VICTORIA OVER 50 YEARS AGO. IT IS AN EASY UPSCALE SPOT TO GET TO FROM CAMPBELL RIVER.

Just about broke my neck stepping up into the bathroom. Very noisy you can hear the people in the room next to you flush the toilet wash their hands etc. Free breakfast is for adults only.

Great location

Posted 20-Nov-2016
Pros: Great location, good value.
Location: Short walk to most things in Victoria, only one hotel over from the Parliament building. We walked to the Fisherman's Wharf in around 10-15 mins
Right across from the water and a 2 minute walk from the Parliament buildings. The pub in the lobby also has a nice view of the water. All the staff inside the hotel and the pub and restaurant were very friendly.

CENTRAL BUT DISAPPOINTING ROOM

Posted 14-Nov-2016
Location: For more sophisticated eating go to the Tapa Bar on Trounce Alley, Brasserie L'ecole on Government Street
THE HOTEL IS RIGHT ON THE HARBOUR, SO ITS ADJACENT TO THE PARLIAMENT BUILDING AND A 5 MIN WALK TO DOWNTOWN RESTAURANTS. THERE IS A TOURIST RESTAURANT IN THE HOTEL FACING THE HARBOUR WITH AN OUTSIDE PATION IN THE SUMMER - FUNKY MENU. NO FRIDGE. THE WINDOWS OPEN , WHICH IS A WINER FOR ME AS I HATE HOT DRY ROOMS THE ROOM WAS VERY UNDERWHELMING BUT IT WAS CLEAN. WIFII WAS STRONG

Nice location right on the harbour.

Posted 10-Nov-2016
Pros: Location, Price, Restaurant and Bar.
Cons: Rooms are getting outdated and the elevated washrooms are a bit strange, not much room for laptop or plugins so probably not a business hotel.
Location: Across the street from the two ferries to Seattle, 5 minutes to the legislature, at least 10 good restaurants within a 10 minute walk.
Nice location, short walk to downtown and all of the restaurants etc in the core. Building is a bit older but well maintained and the restaurant and bar in the hotel are great.

The hotel was perfectly located for our purposes.

Posted 10-Oct-2016
Location: Near at hand are a number of restaurants, shops and sights. The Provincial Museum is an easy walk away as are the Legislative Buildings.
We were going to the Port Angeles Crab Festival. The hotel was right across the street from the departure gate for the Ferry. We are both limited in our mobility therefore the location was perfect. We found the hotel room comfortable and clean. The price was excellent for a shoulder season. Overall we were very pleased.

Dissapointing for the price

Posted 25-Sep-2016
Pros: Friendly staff
The bathroom was so small that you could not open the door all the way. The shower was tiny! There wasn't enough space in the bedroom area for two suitcases to be open at the same time. For $170/night I expect more.(I'm a very realistic person. I understand that $170 is not luxury, but this was far far far below luxury. It was just barely acceptable.) And Expedia ... please correct your post. BREAKFAST IS NOT INCLUDED. Staff was nice enough to give us a small credit on the price. Apparently they have been trying to correct this on the Expedia site but have been unable to.
