WE had to make an emergency stay at the last moment. Pleasantly surprised at how beautiful Tropis is. The grounds were beautful. The rooms were very nce and the Staff was extremely courteous. Speaking English to guide us through an already frustrating day. The price per night may be a bit on the high-end, but absolutely worth every penny!

Dear Carmine, thanks for your feedback. Please note that the distance "5 minute walk" in our descriptions is referred to the city centre of Tropea and there aren't stairs. The distance to the beach instead is infact 20 minute walk with stairs, this is correct. Our best regards.

Please stay away from this fake 4 stars hotel. I’ve been around the world in many hotels and this is not a 4 star hotel.. only the room price is comparable to a 4 star hotel. To begin with it no one helped me to get to my room or understand where the amenities were or how the hotel works, but this was the last of the problems. Me and my wife stayed there luckily only one night, I say only because there is no space for 2 luggages in the room and we would have not been able to spend more time here. The 2 single mattresses pushed together are the hardest mattresses I’ve ever slept on and we were even feeling the springs in out back. No extra pillows are provided in case you want to read a book or watch the tv. To use towels outside the room in case you need one for the pool you will need to pay a rental fee of 3.50 euro.. again this is a 4 star hotel. The minibar is empty and you need to call concierge to have it filled up.. never seen this to a 4 star hotel. I’m a small person 5’7” tall and 150lb and I could not fit in the shower.. I’m not exaggerating, I was not able to wash myself without hitting everything. There are no slippers to walk inside the room (not essential but important for a 4 star hotel) The bidet drain was broken and when I tried to use it got filled with water and was in the middle of the night. I’d love to help save other guests

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff
This is a beautiful hotel. The pools were clean, lots of chairs and loungers. The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to help and make your stay memorable. There was a variety of choices at the continental breakfast, and the food was always fresh. Make sure you check out the daily specials at the spa. Highly recommend this hotel. The only negative thing I can say about it is that the shower in my room was extremely small.

The only thing I did not like about the room was the size of the shower. It was really small, barely enough room to turn around in. Otherwise a great hotel. I loved having the balcony overlooking the pool.

The price is far too much for what you get. Because we booked through Hotels.com and Expedia we weren’t able to take advantage of their shuttle service to the beach which is quite the trek, especially when you head home, and no access to chair and umbrella if you book this way. Also you need to wear shower caps in the pool. There’s also a separate charge for pool towels if you choose to use them.

Dear Joseph, thank you for your feedback. May be while booking, you did not notice that the beach service is subject to charges. Having clarified this and given that it would be in our will and interest to ensure a beach place for everyone, unfortunately, especially in the periods of greatest influx (and the two central weeks of August are), this is not possible because in recent times the sea has reduced the spaces in the beaches. More the current legislation requires a greater distance between the umbrellas. So, without prejudice to the excellent collaboration with Expedia, there is still corporate autonomy for which we decided to include the beach service only for direct bookings that, also in this case, are based on availability. We hope that the situation will normalize and that there will no longer be these problems in the future. The use of swimming caps in the swimming pool is different: in Italy it is mandatory for hygiene reasons. You can use your swimming cap or buy it wherever you like. For the convenience of our Guests, we give the possibility to buy it directly in the Hotel. The same goes for the beach towel: Guests can use their own but we give the possibility, to those who do not have it or prefer not to pack it, to rent it comfortably at the Hotel. Yours Truly.

We liked that there was parking right next to the hotel. Not so in many places. The landscaping was beautiful. CONS: Small room for the price. Bed was very hard. restaurant had very limited (only 2 entrees) choices.

Lovely pool. Cléa bedroom and bathroom. However, there were insufficient tables laid for breakfasts, and several guests had to sit at used tables waiting for staff to clear.

This hotel was close to everything and was immaculately clean! They have a really nice pool and lobby area. I will emphasize that the hotel was very clean, including lobby bathrooms, personal room and bathroom, dining room and pool area. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying alone or with family.

Good hotel not far from city centre
The hotel is located less than 5 minutes from the Tropea train station and less than 10 minutes on foot from the city centre and the beach. From the upper floors, one can see the sea. Rooms are comfortable and very clean, with large terraces. Hotel is used mainly by package tours. Nice pool. Breakfast is rich and good. They provide shuttle to the beach and a beach set free of charge, but the beach is slightly far from the centre.

Great location with ample parking, 5 mins walk into the centre with all the bars and restaurants. Excellent Breakfast spread, variety and quality of food was high and generous. Pool area was small but clean and well kept, with free shuttle to lovely beach (free allocation of sunbed/umbrella per room). This is clearly a hotel used by the package crowd but felt it was great value. Only critic is having to buy a drinks package to get the fridge activated, it's the only hotel I stayed in across Italy that enforced this.

Location and appearance is the best of the hotel. But small rooms and other facilities do not match the rating of a 4 star hotel. Bathroom is small without a close up mirror. Insufficient lighting overall. There’s even no box of tissue.

Very nice hotel
My first time to tropea and a quick stop as well, we got to the hotel late after a long train trip, I'm happy to say the hotel was worth the wait! I was expecting a 4 person room with double bunks but was pleasantly surprised we had 2 rooms together and enough space for 4 adults. Room was clean, air conditioned and very nice. Pool was great as well.

This hotel was very nice
This is a modern hotel with a beautiful pool and good parking. It is a bit of a walk on spotty sidewalks to the downtown. The housekeeping staff and bar staff were perfect. The maître de was extremely helpful and ran his part of the facility extremely well. We ate some dinners there but generally walked to restaurants in the area. The staff spoke an adequate amount of English. The pool is enjoyable and very clean. The private beach is wonderful after a short shuttle ride. The shower in the room was very small but we managed. We went to Tropea to relax and Hotel Tropis was perfect in that regard.

Great stay
We had a great stay and we will return again with more family the next time we come! The pool area is perfect! The restaurant service was fantastic we especially liked the older gentleman that was the mai'tre. Can't remember his name unfortunately. We did have a couple hiccups in our stay that we were upset about (shuttle time not coordinated right and we were forgotten with the baby and stained towels) however overall was good and we will return!

Enjoyable stay in beautiful Tropea
We arrived in Tropea by train from Rome. The train station is a convenient 5 minute walk to the hotel. On arrival the receptionist was very helpful and showed us to our comfortable clean & spacious room. We found the hotel staff very efficient and friendly. The swimming pool is a good size and very clean. Tropea town is within easy walking distance of the hotel with a great selection of excellent restaurants. We had a very enjoyable stay in Tropea and hope to return to the tropics hotel sometime in the future

We arrived late for dinner but the food was Luke warm. It was slightly tasteless for a wellness hotel the type of food was poor. Our room was good. Hotel was close to the old town, this was a positive. Staff were polite but did not bend over backwoods too please. Breakfast was good. It took over 17 minutes to drive to the beach. Near but far. Overall would we stay here again sorry NO.

The location can not get any better in tropia.
The location is perfect, while it is overlooking the city center, less than a minute walking, it is not in the city center so peaceful and chic It is one of the nicest hotels around and has a charming swimming pool with generous breakfast and very nice service

We visited with our children (aged 10 and 12) at the very end of October 2013, when most of Tropea (and Italy) is closing down its tourist facilities, so our comments relate to that period and we can't comment on what it is like in high season. We had a lovely time (lucky to have sunshine every day; 21-25 degrees) and really enjoyed the hotel as a base from which to explore Tropea and the surrounding region. The location, just outside the old town, worked both for walking into town (10 mins down a gentle hill) and for (free) parking and exploring Capo Vaticano. There's no real view to speak of but the pool is nice. We got a family room (108), booked on the internet, and had no idea what form that would take. It turned out to be excellent! One entrance onto a small hall, from which you access three rooms: a twin with bunk beds, a bathroom (shower, not bath) and a double room (two singles attached - gap hardly noticeable) with TV, off which there was a balcony. It meant you could put the kids to bed and then stay up without disturbing them, with assurance of their safety. The hotel restaurant closed the night we arrived but there were plenty of good places to eat in the town. Good breakfast selection, but all self service (coffee from machines, pre-cooked bacon & scrambled eggs, fresh croissants, cereal, yoghurt, toast, cold meats & cheese). Nice facilities, friendly staff (some spoke English), very clean. Comfy beds. Recommend it!

Wonderful hotel
The Hotel Tropis is conveniently located to the downtown area of Tropea. It is new, modern, very clean and the staff was professional, friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. The rooms also have nice balconies, a great addition. It was a little hard to find, as we did not come into Tropea from the autostrada. My only suggestion would be that they put a few signs in that direction. Otherwise, I highly recommend this hotel. It was a most enjoyable experience.

institutional hotel meant for mass groups
The hotel was fine - nothing really wrong with it - just devoid of any character - felt like a communistic institution. The staff was friendly. The room was plain. The hotel just lacked any semblence of opulence. It seemed ideal for a large busload of tourists that need to be housed and fed before being shipped off to the next destination. The hotel check-in hours also reflected the same, i.e., check-in is at 5 and check-out is at 10. There was no bottle opener or remote in the room. The pool was nice and the hotel has no views.

Ottima scelta. Con la mia famiglia abbiamo deciso di andare a Tropea e la scelta è ricaduta sull'Hotel Tropis. Bella struttura a due passi dal centro con posto macchina e possibilità di scdendere con la navetta (posti gestiti molto bene) al lido convenzionato. Hotel molto pulito e con personale disponibile e gentile. Sicuramente torneremo.

Usel service. Dålig frukost. Städerskan började väsnas högt utanför rummet kl: 8.00 varje morgon. Högre förväntningar av 4 stjärnigt hotell! Dessutom står det på Er rumsinformation att rummet ska vara med balkong/terrass. Det var fel så vi vill bli ersatta för detta. Så återkom till oss Mvh Mia

Gentile Sig.ra Ricci, la Sua recensione ci lascia alquanto stupiti. Lei ha prenotato e pagato una camera Economy che non prevede né balcone, né tantomeno terrazza. Le abbiamo concesso gratuitamente, quindi non ha pagato nessuna differenza, un up-grade in camera con balcone. Ci saprebbe gentilmente spiegare per cosa la dovremmo eventualmente risarcire? La nostra domanda ovviamente è retorica, ci scusi. E ancora: servizio pessimo, colazione pessima, rumore della cameriera ai piani. Come mai non ha lamentato il Suo disagio durante il soggiorno? Noi siamo abituati a risolvere subito, nel limite del possibile, gli eventuali problemi che i nostri Ospiti lamentano. Ma da Lei non abbiamo ricevuto nessuna richiesta e pertanto non abbiamo potuto constatare e quindi eventualmente risolvere quanto da Lei lamentato. I feedback hanno un senso se sono costruttivi altrimenti, purtroppo, lasciano un po' il tempo che trovano.La salutiamo cordialmente.

Vacanza a Tropea
Hotel con tutti i comfort che un turista possa richiedere. Vicinissimo alla stazione ferroviaria ed a pochi passi dal centro. Nota di eccellenza allo chef ed al suo team che sanno come deliziare e coccolare i clienti . Personale di sala e maitre cordiali e pronti a soddisfare ogni esigenza. Piscina stupenda immersa nel verde paesaggio di Tropea. Per chi volesse trascorrere dei giorni all'insegna del relax, il Tropis hotel è sinonimo di garanzia.
