Hotel Katy, Is a well located hotel. The room was your typical European size. The bathroom was spacious and very clean . The AC needs to be turned on right away to get the temperature of the room down. Our room had a great size balcony. The Hotel is very well priced. David on the Rock

Great little hotel - will return
Very nice hotel just of seafront. Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had a large room with balcony which had a sea view. Breakfast was great. Will definitely return.

This my favourite hotel in Viareggio. This my third stay here. Hotel close to front and resturants, supermarket close by. Hotel is family owned and run, staff always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is exceptional, rooms clean and well maintained. Overall standard is high, well above what would be expected for 3 star hotel.

Comfortable and clean family hotel
Lovely family run hotel - great location for beach and 15 minute walk to train station. Very friendly and helpful staff - good continental breakfast included. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Viareggio.

Positives: location is great, you are right by the main promenade, there is a park behind the hotel and small supermarket around the corner. Sea is 2 min walk. Hotel provides beach towels which you can change every 3 days. Most of the hotel staff are friendly and lovely. Negatives: hotel would benefit from some furniture update. My son was allocated a single bed which was an old blue sofa and looked a bit dirty, had to cover the back of it with a towel, the same goes for the chairs. Blood stain on the curtains and half of the dead mosquito spoil the view from the window. Breakfast was decent, always the same things , no parma or mozzarella, no olives or fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, however fruit was really nice and cakes change daily. Overall hotel reflects the price and would be fantastic with some investment into some new furniture. We won't be returning

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Katy for 3 days during our trip to Italy. The staff was extremely warm and friendly, check in was easy and efficient, and the room was clean and comfortable. The location was absolutely unbeatable and they have a great relationship with stefano, the guy that runs beach Maurizio near the hotel and offer a special price for prime beach real estate. Breakfast was amazing and kept us full past lunch. Amazing stay, and we will be back!

4 days at Hotel Katy in mid-May
Hotel Katy was great - the staff were really friendly, the room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was great. The hotel is right by the beach, but tucked away off the main road so it's nice and quiet at night. Viareggio is beautiful and we knew that it would be out of season mid-May, but hadn't realised that so many of the shops, restaurants and beach clubs would be shut, so that's the only thing I would say to take into consideration when booking for this time of year. Despite this, we did manage to find different places to eat each day.

Home from home
A wonderful location, just off the magnificent promenade. All staff were so friendly and helpful. Room very spacious, great shower in the bathroom. Bed comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. A great value hotel........and we received a free upgrade!!!! Thank you so much all at Hotel Katy

Helpful friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Only a few minutes walk to beach/shopping/restaurants. Similarly, only a few minutes walk to the park in opposite direction. No in room facilities for tea/coffee making. I would definitely stay again.

Excellent Hotel adjacent to Sun, Sea and Sand
All staff very friendly and helpful without exception. Within two minutes walking time to beach and restaurants etc. Small supermarket and ATM nearby. Superb breakfast with a fine array of fruits, ham, cheese and pastries, plus cooked egg and bacon in the hot box. Standard of cleanliness was was perfection. About fifteen minutes walk to rail station.

This is the first time I have stayed at this hotel, it certainly deserves the high rating in the reviews. The owners are all staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel, rooms, breakfast area are all very clean, well finished and to high standards. The bedrooms are modern and very clean. There is a wide choice of freshly prepared food at breakfast. It is a minor point only as breakfast starts at 8am, and I like to eat earlier. But it is just about adjusting your day to suit. The hotel a good location being is 15 minutes walk from the station and close to the beach area and facilities. I have been to Viareggio several times and enjoy returning for a relaxing break or opportunity to visit other places on the train. I would willingly stay at this hotel again, and highly recommend it to friends. But book early as it is in high demand!

This hotel has a charming, helpful and efficient front of house team that makes for a great stay. I have stayed here several times over several years and it is always the same high standard. As a example the breakfast fresh fruit salad is the best: freshly prepared with fresh seasonal fruit.

Tranquillity close to the beach
The staff are very considerate and helpful and the rooms are large and comfortable. Ours had a balcony which caught the evening sun which was ideal. Excellent.

Katy hotel is family owned and operated = wonderful experience. Very nice clean hotel, with all the amenities you need in a beach resort. Very friendly staff (owners and family), helpful with a lot of information for our daily trips (Pisa, Lucca, Cinque Terre, etc.), dinning and shopping choices. We did jot want to leave the hotel and the Viareggio resort. Definitely recommend this hotel.

10 day August trip.
The family that owns this small but comfortable hotel were very welcoming hosts. The rooms were attended to daily and kept spotlessly clean with fresh towels every day. The breakfast provided was excellent with cereals, fruit, meats, egg, and cakes available all with the choice of water, juice or a hot drink. In our room, there was no balcony but this was not a major factor for me. The owners were very helpful in giving tips on booking sun loungers and parasols on the beach and how to use the local train services. If you are looking for a small well-kept hotel you will find this to your liking. However, if you like watching English t.v. programs or other kinds of entertainment then this is not the hotel for you as it is simply bed and breakfast.

A lovely hotel well worth a visit.
Lovely staff, very friendly. Room very nice. Breakfast very good choice unfortunately the bacon and eggs not very hot. Supermarket around the corner and lots of restaurants very close. Georgia gave us maps of viareggio, Pisa and Lucca and told us where was good to visit.

Had a fabulous 14 night stay in this beautiful family run hotel. The hotel is spotless with the rooms cleaned everyday and fresh towels left everyday. The hotel is perfectly located - near to the railway station, bus station, promenade with shops and restaurants and the beach. All within walking distance. Every morning the breakfast was delicious. The most fantastic variety of fresh fruit served everyday, croissants, bacon, eggs breakfast juices, tea, coffee and amazing cakes. There is a really good supermarket just located round the corner which is really reasonably priced and sells everything. Beach - The beach is within a very short distance of the hotel. Hotel Katy has a discount arrangement with the beach club Maurizio. Stefano was brilliant sorting us out with sun loungers (7 days for 80 euro). On our last day we wanted to spend sometime at the beach but could not get showered at Hotel Katy as we had to be checked out at 11am. There are good shower facilities at the beach which we were able to avail of and Hotel Katy gave us towels that we could use.

The hotel was modern and spotless. Loved the cane furniture in our room and the decor. Enjoyed sitting on our balcony watching the world go by? The bathroom looked like new it was so clean and sparkling. The staff were lovely especially Giorgia the receptionist who was so friendly and helpful and advised us where to visit downloading train timetables? Thanks also to the waitress who provided breakfast who on the second morning knew exactly what tea to give us. Loved this hotel.

A family run hotel, very helpful and English speaking! Helped if they could, like when going on an outing by supplying maps and guidance. Cleanliness is outstanding, shower powerful and lots of hot water, beds quite comfortable Breakfast very good, especially the jams. Near to the large sandy beach, though there is a cost for sun beds

We had a good room (402) which was reasonably spacious and had a very nice balcony with sun loungers. Breakfast fine. It would be nice to be able to get a tea or coffee during the day. Either in the lobby or with a kettle in the room. Otherwise good location and very pleasant.

Very attentive staff from the owners to the pleasant girl who served our coffee and tea every morning. The night watchmen was helpful and amiable. Good breakfast selection, all fresh and plentiful. Air conditioning was a Godsend!

We went to Italy to celebrate my partners 50th birthday. Hotel Katy was an excellent choice. We caught the bus from Pisa airport 3 euros each. The bus station is a ten minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is literally across the road from a parade of shops, bars and restaurants and the beach. Great location. The hotel staff are all very friendly and speak great English. Breakfast was perfect. Everything you could want. Our room was cleaned daily and was very comfortable. Won`t hesitate to stay here again.

First Class hotel
We stayed at the hotel Katy in September, cannot fault this hotel, staff were excellent, very helpful always keen to supply maps, timetables and information about the area. Best restaurant in Viareggio was the La Chiesina pizzeria great selection of meals not just pizza,do not miss the fish and chip boats at the marina. Went everywhere on the train,Pisa,Lucca even Florence no problems remember to validate ticket. Pietrasanta worth a trip especially in the evening ,went on the train but be careful of the times taxi is expensive , restaurant vineria osteria very good. Will return to Hotel Katy and Tuscany very soon. Room 306.
