Average place to stay
The hotel staff, pool, and breakfast were wonderful, but the room was incredibly cramped and not even close to sound-proof, so we heard the conversations from our next door neighbor and his family. The bathroom was rundown and could use some updating.

It was a nice room, the dinner buffet was excellent (though expensive) and the breakfast buffet was also great. The wi-fi was way too slow. The staff was really nice.

Very clean, friendly staff and fun amenities. Rooms were small but had good use of space. Arrived too late to enjoy the outdoor pool but kids had fun on mini zip line. Wonderful breakfast with great selection of American and European options. Highly recommend.

what can i say it ´was very very disaponit for evry thing from A-Z we left the hotel one day befor becous, there is not point to stay.

We had to return the rental car at the airport. We asked the woman at the front desk when we got there on August 28, how far or how long it takes to get to the airport. When she didn't know, and we had no idea, we got scared and took a cab there to return it that night. If she had told us between 15 and 30 minutes we would have waited until morning before our flight. She cost us a round trip fare to and from the airport and valuable time on our last night in Norway. In the morning, I told the new desk attendant that I couldn't understand how the one the night before could say she didn't know. The morning one was helpful and very pleasant.

Fabulous location
If you want to go to Dyreparken and you don't want to stay at the facility itself or camp, this is the place to be. It's a short, easy walk from the hotel to Dyreparken. What could be better? The hotel itself is lovely, too, interesting design, plenty of space. The only negative for us was that dinner in the restaurant was only buffet, no menu.

Good hotel. Great staff at reception and the bar. Buffet for dinner and breakfast was great. Lots of families so make sure you are alright with kids!

Very good family stay
The Scandic Sorlandet offered a comfortable stay with a good room and breakfast. The staff were very accommodating and happy to help. It was easy to drive to the centre of Kristiansand from the hotel and always parking available when we returned. We were very satisfied with our stay and our children loved the indoor play area, which was downstairs and away from other guests.

Great kid friendly hotel
I brought my 3 kids (ages 3, 6, and 7) here for 3 nights and we had a great time! I was surprised out how kid friendly it was. There was a kids activity program each night that ended with a kids disco! They received a welcome gift upon arrival and there was a fairly large (by hotel standards) soft play area in the hotel. The breakfast buffet was large with many different options. We went in mos August and the pool (heated) was still open. There’s even a small playground with a zip line on the premises! The only draw back was that the room wasn’t cleaned thoroughly. There were deflated balloons behind the chair in the room and food crumbs on the floor near the other chair. Despite that, I highly recommend this hotel for people traveling with kids.

Enjoyable overnight stay
I keep coming back to this hotel as it is ideal when having an early start to the airport. The hotel has all the comfort needs I require. It was lovely to use the outside pool whilst the sun was out. I will be back.

Cozy hotel off highway near zoo & waterpark
This hotel is very well designed, using a combination of traditional Norwegian wood architecture and styles alongside hotel needs. The rooms are bright and cheery. The V shape of the facade is welcoming after a long drive, as I had, from Oslo. However, we are in the middle of the worst heat wave on record in Norway and the rooms were hot and with no air conditioning option or fans. Usually this is not needed, of course, but I also couldn't see where one might regular the heat in winter time. Good thing I'd brought my own fan. The staff were excellent, the facilities lovely, great pool, really family friendly, and the restaurant chef, OUTSTANDING. I have lived in Norway and BC and many places, and eaten around the world, but I can say this was among my top three salmon meals ever. Also, a great plus was that each room had a great, compact little recycling bin - I challenge all hotels and AirBnB hosts to come on board with this! I'll be going back - - with my own fan, if in summer. Like everywhere else, also Norway is experiencing global warming and erratica. A hotel like Scandic Sørlandet offers a nice break.

Comfortable, could be better
Comfortable room and with a good breakfast and nice restaurant for evening meal. Problem with water leaking out under shower screen. Also for a good hotel shame you had to pay for a tea or coffee which many hotels provide at no charge.

Good comfortable hotel
Lovely hotel, comfortable and warm. Slightly confusing light switches in the room as it felt underlit but otherwise very good stay. I didn't get to try the breakfast as I had a very early flight.

Fin beliggenhet
Fint hotell med god beliggenhet fra vei og i umiddelbar avstand fra Dyreparken som var vårt mål. God parkering og hyggelige ansatte. God frokost med svært bra utvalg og kvalitet på maten. Beggynner å dra på årene, noe som kan merkes på badene spesielt, men fungerer som de er og. Stort pluss med eget lekerom i kjelleren for de minste, men kunne med fordel vert noen godstoler eller sofaer her, slik at vi voksne hadde holdt ut litt lengre i leken. Kommer gjerne tilbake.

Fin plass! Fikk rom vendt ut mot friområde/grøntareal, rolig. Hyggelig personale! Stor og innholdsrik frokost, med godt utvalg av glutenfri mat!! Eneste litt negative trekk på vurdering var eldre vegg-til-teppe på rom og lite bad. Positivt med gratis parkering!!
