Room was very comfortable and Denny's restaurant is conveniently located next to hotel for breakfast.
I arrived late at night so reception was quiet, and front desk helped me take my bags to room which was impressive.
Only disadvantage is that there is no elevator between the 2 floors.
Let me start with this: valet parking is included.
That's just one small example of how the Sparkling Hill resort created a welcoming environment for my husband and I, as I'm sure it does for all its guests.
Other examples: free access to something like 6 steam rooms and saunas; walk around in robes; a private elevator to move guests from suites to spa without going through the lobby (if you don't want to walk around in a robe in public); gorgeous pools - a therapeutic one and one overlooking the lake; a really delicious free breakfast (lox! such wonderful lox!); an in-room touchscreen tablet to use to call your car so it's there when you go down to the lobby; and what appeared to be DEDICATED WI-FI for each room. Hello, bandwidth!
Our room was lake-facing / lake-view, and the view was truly spectacular. Our soaker tub overlooked the lake; it was too warm in August to imagine taking a hot bath, but it'd be great in the fall, winter or spring. We opened the big sliding window-slash-door and let the breeze come in, which made it feel like Hawaii.
The bed was comfortable - great sleeps. The decor was higher-end. The bathroom was beautiful (and connected to the room without feeling exposed to the room). And delightful little touches like the color-changing "crystal fireplace" brought it all together.
I'll add that we went for facials, too, and the spa was outstanding. I'd had a facial there 3 years earlier, which is why I returned.
