Based on the positive reviews that others have posted, I am hoping that our experience was a special case...but I feel compelled to share our experience. The room we were put in felt like a loft or old storage room they converted into a hotel room. The ceiling was--no exaggeration--6 1/2 feel high. My husband who is quite tall had to squat while walking around the room. There was a hole in the ceiling that was plugged up with a plastic bag. Based on the information about the hotel we saw on the website, we were expecting air conditioning. The room we were in did not have air conditioning or a unit. We had to sleep with the window open, with no screen, resulting in us swatting at mosquitoes all night. Very disappointing.
I do have to say that the location was great, close to a Vaporetto station and St. Marks Square. But not worth it if you end up in this room!
