Lovely quiet hotel
Charming little hotel in a very convenient location for St Marks, the Rialto and the Accademia, set in really quiet street just a few yards from the Grand Canal. We had room 23, a deluxe on the 3rd floor. It looked out across the street with just a glimpse of the canal if we opened the window, but was very quiet, comfortable and stylish, and quite spacious. Very well appointed bathroom with separate bath and shower. Well stocked continental breakfast buffet, although the room is quite small and you may have to eat in the bar/lounge area opposite. Staff very helpful - we had emailed the hotel beforehand and our room was ready when we arrived at about 12.30. Tip 1: If you can, do take a private water taxi from the airport - the hotel's location makes this such a convenient way to arrive but gives the added benefit of the most marvelous views of the Grand Canal, far better than you will ever get from the crowded vaparettos. Tip 2: Get up before breakfast one day at least to see St Mark's Square and the waterfront before the crowds arrive.
