We had a good stay, we left our suitcases after we check out and we were able to do some more exploration of Venice which is very nice thing, walking with them for half a day would be hale.The room was ready even before our check in hour.

A few paces from Piazza San Marco but quiet and right on the canal with gondolas lined up. Great position to walk round monuments or down to the Grand Canal in 5 mins

The hotel is in a great location. Less than a 1 minute walk to San Marco and all the high end shops. My wife and I stayed for 9 nights and did not eat at the same restaurant twice. Staff is courteous and professional.

Great location, just off San Marco, staff were lovely. We did have to walk up many flights of stairs so definitely got our steps in for each da. I would have preferred a room with a view but comprised on location which was amazing and we had a great weekend in Venice

Perfect for our stay-family of 4. Loved the location. Just a one minute walk to St. Marks Square. Staff was so helpful and accommodating. Many bakery and dining choices nearby. Gondolas outside the hotel. Cute bar to sit and view the canal. Lovely! We’ll be back!

I felt the hotel could use some upgrades. I thought Venice was not like it used to be which was sad. The way a single traveler is treated is horrible and I am not the only one who said this. I also went to get a water taxi and evidently bought the we my ticket. I got fined a hefty amount. What a joke and the rude lady would not even let me make it right or help me she just wanted the money for the fine. This would not happen in the US. I will and believe me when I say this, I will never go to Venice again. The sad part is I have always talked up Venice but it is a mess. Period!

The location is perfect, the staff is incredibly friendly. But this cannot be considered a 4 star hotel. Room is falling apart and you can see holes on the skirtings, shower was broken, and the list can keep going. You can hear everything from the other rooms, from the water in the shower to things being placed on the sink. They're going through very needed renovations now, but with little respect for the guests, works started at 7:30 am outside our window - we had builders literally looking over our window, shouting, using the drill etc. It's quite an expensive hotel to be going through this kind of stress, we went to relax and celebrate our anniversary, but got this instead. It's very unfortunate, as the staff is really brilliant and trying their best and the location being so perfect. I hope they take this in consideration and think more about the guests while doing the works.

Hotel is located just off St Mark's Square and within walking distance of several attractions. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is based across two buildings - the main building has reception, a bar and breakfast room, and guest rooms. The second building has only guest rooms (where I was). You have to be 'buzzed in' every time you one to re-enter which can be slightly inconvenient. The room was clean but quite tired - there was some peeling wallpaper and broken sockets. The bathroom was also quite dated. An iron and ironing board wasn't available in the room, however an iron was provided on request. Overall, an OK hotel with friendly staff, but don't expect the 4 stars to equate to UK standards.

Hotel is in a great location. Unfortunately the staff weren’t particularly helpful and when having to ask for anything as it was not provided as stated in included details it was awkward and we were made to feel bad. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in rooms and none in communal areas as stated in hotel details.

The hotel was about as close to Piazzo San Marco as possible! We had booked a “superior” room, but it was tiny with no view whatsoever. It was even in an auxiliary building, so not even on the canal unlike all of the pictures on their website. Breakfast was okay, but the dining room was terribly cramped and crowded. Superior location to explore all of Venice.

The perfect thing about this hotel is the location. It is right onto one of the biggest gondola stations in Venice, where you can wile away the day watching tourists and gondoliers interact with each other on a balcony at the waters edge. The next best thing is the friendliness of the staff, whether it is the front desk, the restaurant or the chamber staff, they are always there to help. The only this that prevents a full five stars in the condition of the hotel and this is not a Cavelletto unique thing. Having stayed in Venice in several occasions due to continual flooding it is difficult for hotels to keep up with maintenance however this will not stop me from coming back time after - the Cavelletto is my new favourite Venetian hotel.

We visited near the end of Oct. the room was stuffy and the AC was off for the season. We left windows open at night so bugs were buzzing in our ears all night. No screen on the windows. Location was great and staff was nice and we stored our bags since we arrived very early. We did not spend much time at the hotel.

Absolutely fantastic hotel choice. The most amazing location. the view from our room (green room/canal view) was incredible with the gondolas parked up overnight outside. Very quiet, peaceful area. Short walk to San Marco square with so many attractions. (we also walked from the bus/train stop to the hotel, took 25 mins) Staff at the hotel were superb, very friendly, warm welcome, always on hand to chat, we were spoiled by having a superbly clean room every day and excellent multi choice breakfast. This is the perfect hotel for not only being in a quiet location but accessible to all alleyways containing shops/restaurants as well as the Grand Canal, Doge Palace, water bus etc etc. We loved this hotel and will definitely book this room again and highly, highly recommend it as the ideal place to stay.

This is very old hotel, and our room was very small and cramped. The heating control did not work. The staff is courteous and helpful, obviously doing the best they can. An uncomfortable experience. The location is great, however, only a few steps from Saint Mark square.

This property hotel was not as advertised. The aging and maintenance of the building was apparent in the pealing wallpaper and misty carpet. Also broken heating system and had. No ventilation in the room. Windows needed to be open and the noise level was high. The restaurant was again badly as well. And not open except for a buffet breakfast. No room service and in adequate WiFi. Def not as ad. We changed rooms and it was just as bad with heat unbearable so we checked out
