Lovely hotel in a very good location in Venice.

Posted 23-Aug-2015
Pros: I investigated many hotels in Venice and decided on Hotel Bucintoro due to its great reviews, location and tasteful decor.
Cons: A chest of drawers in the bedroom and a large mirror would have been nice - where 2 mirrors were in the bathroom. There were drawers under the bed :)
Location: Great location near to the park and good restaurants but far enough away from the noise and crowds. There was even a Co-op and pharmacy nearby.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at Hotel Bucintoro, where we relished wonderful views down to St Marcs Square and across the bay to Lido from our corner junior suite. The staff were friendly & helpful and facilities lovely and clean. I am very fussy about beds and pillows – both here were excellent and we slept very well. The room AC worked well and the shower was also excellent. Breakfast was a feast of cold meats, savoury quiche, fantastic tomatoes, cheeses, pastries, yogurts, fruit & juices, great coffee and there was an extra menu for those requiring scrambled eggs etc. (So very good and ample). Some people have said how small the main reception and foyer is, but we found it charming and there was even a small lounge we could use with computer + printer, TV and magazines – all decorated and furnished with the tasteful hotel yachting theme. Amazing yacht’s moored outside during our stay - where this was an ideal location near to the park and far enough away from the busy crowds and noisy water buses but a stone’s throw to reach everything. Couldn't have been happier with our choice of hotel.

Unbeatable location if you are traveling for the Venice Biennale. Great staff, comfortable rooms, and surprisingly quiet and peaceful.

Excellent Hotel, Central to everything.

Posted 02-Aug-2015
Pros: Everything, we felt very comfortable, and would definitely go back to this Hotel.
Cons: Nothing
Location: The hotel is on the river front, less than half a mile from St Marks square. No noise at night, and fantastic views from our room.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Our room (201) was a little small, but, it overlooked Venice and had all the comforts you would expect. The staff couldn't help you enough, the continental breakfast was well presented with plenty of choice. It always helps having a 24 Hour reception, and all 3 who were on reception spoke good English, and gave us good advice for our short stay (Monday - Wednesday). If you are like us and its your first visit to Venice, you will not be let down by the Hotel Bucintoro and the very helpful staff.

Perfektes Hotel direkt an der Lagune

Posted 17-Jun-2015

Friendly and welcoming hotel in a fab location

Posted 01-Jun-2015
Pros: It's well positioned, friendly, not to big and very well kept.
Cons: Not a lot - breakfast choices could have been a little more diverse but everything they served at breakfast was very nice.
Location: On the waterfront in Castello 10 mins walk from St Marks; Naval Museum next door; Arsenale Vaporetto stop 3 mins walk.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. We spent 4 nights in a junior suite. Our room had views over the waterfront in Castello leading up to St Marks so you could see the Campanile from the window. Next time we go we'd like to book the next level of room up (the junior suite deluxe I think they're called) as they apparently have double aspect windows with a view of the campanile from one side and out over the lagoon to San Giorgio Maggiore and Guidecca island from the other. All of the staff, from the Manager Giuliano through to the other reception staff, the breakfast room staff, the bellhop and the cleaning staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are refreshingly spacious and beautifully panelled in wood with plain but smart décor which we thought made a nice change from a lot of the very ornately decorated rooms we saw in other hotels. Nicely situated to reach St Marks in about 10 mins but far enough away from the bustle to feel relaxing and quiet when you get home after a long day's walking around Venice. Some decent restaurants and bars nearby and also a nice park at the tip of the Castello area which we would have liked to have found more time to walk around as it was beautifully green and relaxing. Would highly recommend.
