Excellent hotel close to the action

Posted 19-Mar-2017
Enjoyed staying @ HB. Outstanding facilities, close to the sights of San Marco but in the quieter setting of Arsenale. Clean, well appointed, water views - great breakfast and good service throughout stay. Would go back.

Excellent Location & Quality

Posted 18-Mar-2017
Pros: Quality, Clean, Location and Staff
Cons: Hate to say that but one of the people was not very warm in his answers compared to all his colleague, that was not good but that is fine
Location: Perfect location and close to everything you need to be around including mini-market that has great prices
Frankly when looking into the photos of this hotel and others I was afraid to get some crap knowing it is an old city but was surprised with the location of the hotel and the quality of the room and its cleanses. Amazed with the wood all around, noiseless windows yet on the beach right away and people walking round the clock, the bathroom...etc. Everything was perfect for those two days and especially the staff at the reception and the restaurant were extremely pleasant. I would definitely revisit and stay at the same hotel

Fab location and views

Posted 07-Mar-2017
The location of the hotel gives great views, and is near enough to the action and main sites whilst being away from the tourist throngs. It is only a short distance from the alilaguna boat from the airport. The staff were extremely helpful and answered all our queries. And even helped us to book an evening Vivaldi Concert one evening which was amazing, and a restaurant - il Gatte nero on Burano for a fabulous lunchtime meal - highly recommended. Will certainly book the hotel again.

A peaceful hotel

Posted 05-Nov-2016
Pros: Staff, rooms, view
Cons: Restaurant or clear recommendations for one nearby.
Location: Castillo area, so away from the main tourist spots. Close to Arsenale and the public gardens. Naval Museum is round the corner. Right on the lagoon.
Close to St Mark's, but far enough away that it's not too busy, this is a great hotel for people who want to simply get lost in Venice. It's one bridge from Arsenale, so you're on the vaporetto routes, but it is also one bridge away from the public gardens and the much less tourist-focuses end of La Serenissima. Staff were fabulous, bar prices are noticeably cheaper, but no restaurant was a little bit of a downfall for a single traveller. I will definitely stay again.

Comfortable intimate hotel near Venice Biennale. Rooms are small but typical of Venice.

Great hotel only 10 mins walk to San Marco square.

Posted 04-Oct-2016
Pros: The Ship theme/.
Cons: Costly on the hotel beers but this is venice and it isn't a well established bar.
Location: San Marco is 10 minutes walk away but Rialto Bridge was 35 mins good walk. Lido is only 3-4 stops on the waterbus and a break from hectic venice
This little hotel was a great experience of Venice. It had a ship interior theme with great attention to detail overlooking the lagoon. Great sunrise and sunset views totally unobstructed unless a boat was moored in front of the hotel. A good location for San Marco strolls but we managed to walk over to Rialto Bridge in about 35 minutes where it is a little livelier. This is a good location for the Venice Lido where a beautiful sandy beach to rival islands in the Indian Ocean. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will return to it if in Venice again.
