"A cute house on a patio with a pool. The house could use a little updating (a few ripped screens, older couch, etc), but the A/C in the bedrooms worked well and the patio has several trees, so it's well shaded. The owner found us some boogie boards and beach toys for my kids to use- so kind! No mosquitos which was a huge plus! A few hiccups finding the house- near the end of a dirt road. Walkable to the beach, but the road is so dusty when cars go by that's it not an altogether appealing...

"If I was to build a vacation home for myself, it would be exactly this. It is comfortable, tastefully decorated, and convenient to local attractions. The parking area is uncovered but inside the locked gate, so very secure; it was a snug fit, but with practice I was able to park my compact SUV with ease. "The resort was very clean and organized. The front desk was very helpful. The bartenders were nice but the drinks were very weak definitely ask for double shots in your drinks. The buffet had plenty of options but best to get there early. The pool and beach areas were great but the beach isn't really for swimming. I recommend bringing sunscreen and bug repellent with you the prices were $40. Bring plenty of small bills for tipping and purchases outside the resort. Noone takes torn bills. The resort is is about a mile from town so not a bad walk. We enjoyed our time there and would recommend it."

"We enjoyed our stay at The Palms at Coco Beach. It’s a great location, close to the black sand beach and near the main road with plenty of shops, locals, and tourists around. The rooms are very basic and a bit dated, and our smaller room with two beds was quite small, including the bathroom. Don’t expect a Hilton or anything fancy, but if you’re mainly there to shower, get dressed, and sleep, it works just fine. The staff were super friendly, the pool was always clean, and the complimentary breakfast from 7–10 a.m. was a great bonus. Overall, it’s a simple, no-frills place in a convenient location if you plan to spend most of your time out enjoying the area."

"My family of 5, rented 3 rooms at the Zulu Surf hotel, everyone gives it 5 stars. All slept well on the comfortable beds, Staff was friendly and helpful. Not a lot of amenities, but we were not expecting any. But there was coffee, and games to play on a covered patio with a nice breeze. Conveniently next door to a wonderful pastry and restaurant, plus a food court. The beach was a very short distance, 5 minute walk. Lots of shops to browse, and plenty of restaurants up and down the street. Tamarindo is convenient if you wish to do activities life Iguana surf lessons and surf camp, zipline and ATV, a bit further you have Chris Diving, my family went with Chris, his family worked hard and patiently and took a lot of time to get one family member through anxiety and panic attacks, Lessons taught in the pool the day prior. 18 and 15 years old's, dove like pro's. The neighborhood felt safe and we were comfortable letting the 18 and 15 year old to wonder the main road at night. I can't recommend this charming hotel enough! Felt like home rather then a hotel."

"This was a favorite property!!! Oceanfront, gorgeous pool and gardens around the property. I love their commitment to the environment and welcome the natural wildlife within the property. The staff is so friendly, always ensuring you are doing well and enjoying your time. The food at the restaurant is delicious, and you can enjoy your meal beachside if you wish. The bungalows are spacious with a beautiful outdoor shower. The beach is wonderful to swim, walk and surf. Thank you to all the staff we met and helped make our stay so memorable!"
