"Nice property overall. But definitely needs a facelift. More modern items in room like usb and outlets. Our showerhead didn’t properly and no hot water. Was upset that rental place to rent some boogie boards was closed on all days (Friday) Would return though."

"The pools were beautiful and weren’t crowded. It is a beautiful setting with the beach and islands and mountains. The spa was very dated and the jacuzzi should be a hard pass. We had massages that were expensive but good. The diamonte ziplining close by was excellent. The monkeys near the monkey bar were a hit. The food at this resort is mediocre and 4 of 5 of us got a terrible food poisoning. We met others who had also been sick. Also not sure the reason you pay more at the palace when the resort next door is beautiful and newly renovated (albeit more crowded). Same food at both. Beautiful weather. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. We were a party of 5 with 2 rooms and they put us with a room separating our 2 ( I asked for side by side and they would not accommodate). We ended up with a very loud group in the middle room."

"It’s a great budget resort. The “entertainment” staff was excellent. They bring great energy without being pushy. The gym needs help. Our sliding glass door was broken and couldn’t be locked. While at the pool, the smell of sewage was bad if the wind shifted. "

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay here and are already planning to come back next year! The resort exceeded our expectations in so many ways. Everything was extremely clean, neat, and very well maintained. The rooms were spacious, conveniently located, and comfortable, which made traveling with kids so much easier. We traveled as three families with children ages 6, 7, and 8, and we always felt extremely safe and comfortable throughout the entire stay. The kiddie pool area was fantastic, especially the shaded covered section where parents could comfortably sit and watch the kids even during the hottest parts of the day. The main pool was also beautiful and relaxing. Another pleasant surprise was the food. We genuinely enjoyed everything we ate. Yes, there is a buffet, which naturally repeats some dishes throughout the week, but they also have menu options that were excellent. The Eggs Benedict were wonderful, and the cheeseburgers were honestly incredible. The location is amazing - literally right across the small dirt road from the beach. The waves were stronger than we expected, so we watched the kids carefully, but they still had an amazing time. The service was outstanding. Scott, the regional director, was constantly checking on guests and making sure everyone was comfortable and having fun. Overall, we truly had an amazing experience and highly recommend this resort for families! "

"Casa Alegre is awesome! It was the perfect place to stay, you are t in the touristy town but a great place to relax. The beach was awesome and the people in the area were friendly and welcoming. The property management team addressed any concerns quickly! When we visit Costa Rica again we will be back at Casa Alegre"
