Spacious suite with comfortable bedding, cleverly hidden cabinet-kitchenette and nice balcony. Great amenities and pleasant staff. Very walkable and convenient location with terrific shopping, markets, culture, entertainment and restaurants nearby. The only hiccup we had was finding the entrance. Google maps directed us to the side of the building and with all the traffic & one-way streets plus temporarily losing our Internet while driving it took awhile to figure out where to enter.

Great trip! Housekeeping was really helpful and efficient. Pool was crowded with kids from cheer competition and they ( and parents) had no awareness of other hotel guests.

I’ve stayed at this hotel a number of times over the years and always enjoyed my stay…but it wasn't the same this time. It’s starting to look a bit worn. We stayed in a suite with a kitchen and you could see the wipe marks on every surface from the cleaning staff, so it made us feel like it was all done with a dirty cloth. I bought some Lysol wipes and wiped down everything for peace of mind. The pillows on the bed were terrible this time and had to ask for more. I’m looking forward to returning only after the renovations are complete. Others then that, it’s a great location and staff are nice.

This is our favorite place to stay, when we are in town. This last trip, we weren’t informed that the restaurant and bar are closed for renovations. As I totally get that renos are necessary, we would’ve booked for when it was open. It’s one of our favorite things about the hotel. We will of course be back and will double check that all is open.

La Grande Residence Vancouver at The Sutton Place Hotel is an amazing hotel for families and visitors of Vancouver. It is located in a terrific area with many designer shops, stores and attractions nearby. The staff were helpful and professional. We will definitely stay at the Sutton Place when we visit Vancouver.

The only thing we didn't like is that parking at the hotel was not complimentary. While we were checking in we heard the clerk next to us tell the guest his parking was complimentary....why wasn't ours? We spent a lot of money on a 2 bedroom suite for the night, you would think parking would be thrown in.

Close to Downtown if that is what you are after. Lobby looks to have been refurbished but not the rooms. All master rooms in the 2 bedroom suites back on to the lifts and so can hear the old lifts banging up and down all night. Asked to be moved to a different room but told they all do this. Furniture very old and outdated. House keeping came at 8:30pm and seemed disgruntled that we didn’t want to leave the room at night for it to be cleaned. 2 of the rooms had holes in the walls. Large and conveniently located but that is about all. Not up to the standard of basic accomodation in 2024 and desperately in a need of a refurbish.

Was incredibly disappointed in our room at The Sutton. Since the hotel is undergoing renovations, they're advertising their new updated rooms on Expedia (which is what I thought I had booked), but the room we were given was old and worn and looked completely different. Additionally, check-in took over 40 minutes with a line around the lobby.

TV operation was terrible. Minimal channels. Couldn’t chrome cast. For $400 a night you’d expect a proper smart rv. Everybody has one at home. Disappointing. And cleanliness wasn’t that great. Every time we walked down the hallway we walked around bags of garbage and dirty laundry. Not acceptable

Annual stay with a glitch
Book annually for friends and family gathering. First time in La Grande Residence. Nice, simple, clean suite. First night heating didn't work (Dec in Vancouver!). Various staff came, said that since it's an old building they have issues and can bring us a small space heater ?!? It was freezing. Had to make it work.....

Always enjoy staying here. Had a 2 bedroom suite which was perfect for our family. Only stayed 1 night this time. Had an issue last time we were here but everything went great this time. Staff is always great. Can feel its an older facility vs some of the hotels in the area but still a great place to stay especially if you want larger rooms.

It was a terrible experience. The pool was so dirty. Our room wasn’t ready. We never got kids robes even tho asked twice. Room service was 30 mins late and cold and undercooked. The room heat would not turn off and even with windows open it was too hot for anyone to have covers. Noisy street with people yelling at each other and sirens. Pool was freezing the kids couldn’t swim in it. Hot tub was yellow. They gave us a free movie for inconveniences but then the tv remote wouldn’t work. It was so disappointing.
