We stayed for one night. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. The rooms were spic and span. But the best part was that I accidentally left my wallet in the hotel room (we were touring 5 different countries and I had no idea where I had left my wallet). Hotel Centrale staff called our contact in USA and told them about the missing wallet. They were extremely helpful and mailed the wallet to us in US...with my credit cards, ATM cards and cash intact.
We stayed in Tirano one night before catching the train to Chur (the Bernina Express route) the next day. What a lovely town. The hotel is homey and well-cared for. The front staff was very friendly and told us about some local sites we should see in the few daylight hours we had in town. Breakfast was good and at a reasonable price. Overall, a very positive experience.

We had a marvelous experience. The hotel is located just next to 2 free bus stations that will take you anywhere in town- no need of a ski-pass. The staff was grate and helpful even though you- expedia- made our trip difficult and unhelpful.
We'll never use your services again. I promiss to write in my Facebook all about your unhelpful treatment.

"Fablous biking hotel location - more like 5 star"
One of the best hotels I've stayed in!
Having visited Livigno skiing in the winter, we (a couple) wanted to try mountain biking in the summer but wanted a holiday that was more than simply a biking holiday and Lac Salin did not disappoint.
The rooms were incredibly spacious and comfortable with Sky tv with English channels, free wifi and a well stocked mini bar.
The breakfast options were so extensive you felt it utterly necessary to have a 3 course breakfast every day. Freshly made pastries and cakes, freshly squeezed juices, omelette, cheeses, cereals, fruits, yogurts.... I could go on, the choice was vast and of the highest quality.
The bar was well stocked with great views of the mountains and a great selection of whiskys and wine.
The spa was an actual spa, the kind you pay for to go for a day not the usual kind you find at hotels which claim to have a 'spa' only to find a tiny pool and sauna. You were provided with gowns in your room for use in the spa.
We used the services of the biking tours which were very reasonably priced and provided a great day out.
Livigno itself is a fabulous town with great shops, bars and plenty to do for those not wanting to be so active. As a duty free location the prices are very good both in the shops and in the bars and restaurants. Would recommend drinks at Bivio in the centre and food at Bellavista in the San Rocco area. For me the best pizzas are at La Locanda at the bottom end of town.
Great hotel, ski in and ski out, close to the slope, very close to good free bus services to other slopes and the village, excellent stuff...always with a smile accommodating every need! Very big variety and quantity of things at breakfast, lovely big room with view. Fair drink prices at the bar and nice relaxed crowd, very quiet at night to get good sleep, good hard mattresses to rest from skiing and very clean rooms. Swimming pool and jacuzzi, smoking room, huge place, nice public places!
All in all a very positive experience and would totally recommend it.

Valued for its strategic location between northern Italy and Germany in centuries past, Valtelline (or Valtellina) Valley today is well-known for its wine and cheese production, including the popular Bitto cheese. Ski resorts and natural hot spring spas dot the area, which also has the distinction of operating the world's first mainline electrified railway.
