Great location and sensational view from the dining terrace. Staff very friendly and obliging - fitted us in for dinner despite no reservation because we were staying there. The room design was original and fantastic.
I can only report positives for this hotel. Lots of character, close to great quality restaurants and easy to get to tourist spots. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We booked for three nights in a mountain view room which was small but had a little balcony, comfortable bed and we didn't spend much time in the hotel as there was so much to experience in the city. Treated ourselves to fourth night in Room 305. Management kindly gave us a discounted rate and moved us into the room on day three at no additional cost. Views are magic and the bedroom is such that you could be a guest in someone's beautiful old home. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Valparaiso.

"A Near Perfect Small Hotel in a Perfect Location"
I was lucky enough to be checking in on a Sunday in the October off season and got a free upgrade to a great ocean view room. Those without view rooms should take advantage of the three level garden and its great views. The location of the hotel is nearly perfect with many great restaurants nearby and a huge amount of great street art nearby. The staff was great and had excellent English language skills. The breakfast the hotel proved was rather good.
A near perfect hotel for a pre or post cruise stay.
The hotel had multiple WiFi routers so internet speeds seemed excellent everywhere.
Creaky floor boards were the only problem with this hotel.

Beautifully renovated small hotel in heart of old Valparaiso. Our room looked out over the harbour with beautiful morning and evening light. We were on the 3rd floor. Stairs are steep without an elevator but those are part of the eccentricities of old buildings. We would stay here again if we returned ( avoid driving into old Valparaiso if you ca. We didn't and it is not fun....this from someone who has driven n many countries)
Hotel Terranostra is located in an excellent position within walking distance of the main attractions of Valparaiso, including several funiculars. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable, with good quality linen and pillows. The shower was powerful and the temperature controllable and constant. The towels were plentiful, soft and absorbant.
Breakfast was on the ground floor and comprised cereal, eggs, cold meat, fruit, etc in good quantities.
The staff were friendly and quick to rectify anything necessary. The safe in our room needed new batteries to activate the lock and someone came within minutes of this being reported.
Luggage was held after we checked out until we caught the bus later in the afternoon and a taxi was called when requested.
All in all a good choice!
Valparaiso is modest, but proud: The historic zone, with its gaily painted colonial buildings, is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Valparaiso is also known for its port and its dramatic terrain. Built on a series of steep hills that hug the sea, some parts of town are accessible only by funicular. Other attractions include poet Pablo Neruda's home, La Sebastiana, and the Chilean National Congress.
