Good location but several issues.
This is a good news, bad news review! The location of the hotel is great. Very easy for walking to sites in the old city. The lobby and lounge are modern and comfortable. There are several good restaurants in the vicinity and the plaza across the street is quite charming. The breakfast is a good value for 12E. However, our biggest complaint was with sound transmission between rooms, floors and the hallways. We had a very noisy night. We were on the first floor, in an old style room with hardwood floors. The room was spacious and scarcely decorated but comfortable. unfortunately we could hear every loud footstep of the guests above us, and every word of conversations in adjacent rooms. The plumbing is extremely loud - the toilet sounds like the ones on an airplane! Finally we had a very obnoxious neighbour who had a very long telephone conversation in the hallway outside his room in the early morning. He had his cell on speaker phone and lying in bed we could hear every word of the other side of the conversation, in addition to his!!! Not the hotels fault, but it gives a sense of how bad the soundproofing is! This is a nice hotel and I would recommend it, with the advice to be sure you get one of the modernized rooms, where maybe some of these id dues have been dealt with! Buyer beware! Staff at the front desk were excellent. Staff in the lounge, not so much. "Inattentive" would be the polite way to describe it! Improvements could certainly be made there.
