They jacked up the rates to take advantage of travelers for the eclipse. When requesting to cancel because I couldn't make it, they refused. They could have easily re-rented the room.

Hotel exceptionally well placed, with great views of the bay from the superior room we had. The facilities in the room were perfectly adequate, and the staff were very nice though there was a language barrier; they spoke very little English (and our Spanish was terrible). The bed was nice, the room was clean, and the fridge was serviceable. Shower was excellent! Also breakfast had a nice selection of continental choices, just missing some eggs.
However, the A/C was practically nonexistent. Also for a 4* hotel I would have expected complimentary drinking water stocked in our rooms, considering you can' t drink from the taps. And lastly and most important of all (hence the 1* on facilties), the balconies were simply unsafe to use. The fixings on both balconies were all corroded, the barriers were flexible and appeared to not have been updated to more recent safety standards - ie, above waist height. I would not trust them to take my weight or protect me if I tripped (and our room was very high up!), which is a shame because the view was as I said fantastic. Please please update the balconies (and put some water in the rooms).
